A day at the apple orchard

This weekend Simmie and I went on a trip to the Minnetonka Apple Orchard on Sunday.  What a beautiful to be out in picking apples.  It is my first time out in the apple orchard.  I know, really pathetic of me.  Been here for almost a dozen years and I have not gone to an apple orchard till yesterday.  anyways, I really had a good time.  Thanks again to Simmie for a wonderful time.

Of course I went there without checking my camera battery.  Of two cameras sitting on the dining table I grabbed the one with the lowest battery life.  I should have known better.  So, I used my cellphone camera and most of the pictures were taken on Simmie’s camera.

The fee to get in was $4 and if we want a bag for picking apples, it will be $25.  Spendy if you ask me.  So, we just picked and ate the apples right off the tree as many as we can.  I was most interested in Honeycrisp apples.  Minnesota home grown.  So crispy.

I think I ate about 5 honeycrisps.  For a while I thought I was gonna “lou sai” (diarhea).  But it was false alarm.  Probably just too much sun.

I really like the orchard very much.  The golden leaves of fall, just so pretty.  Then there is the corn maze where we camwhore again.  The corn maze was more for the kids I guess, something for them to run around to burn off the sugar from the apples!  Just kidding.

And we saw turkeys in the corn maze.  So, of course, we have to take a picture of it.

Then there was camwhoring at the pumpkin patch, me and Simmie.  We have known each other for two years now, we have not taken a picture together.  This was the first.  Thanks for the pictures, Simmie.

Blue sky, hot day… what better way to spend time except in the orchard. I like all the photos, very vibrant.

Gotta thank Simmie for the beautiful pics.

    Hi there,
Yeah that orchard in Minnetonka is charging more and more each year. Have been there every year except this year coz they started to charge entrance fee, it used to be free, last year was 2 bucks per person, the bags for apples were 6 bucks, then gone to 12 bucks and can’t believe it’s 25 bucks this year. Such a rip off. Did they charged for the wagon ride too? It was free before. Glad that I have found another orchard down by Waconia, it’s probably about 5-10 mins from Arboretum University of Minnesota. Entrance fee is free, apples were charged by pounds, honey crisp at 2.50 per lb they rest is like 1.50per lbs. Go there next year, it’s fun and better still free. heheh
Glad that you have fun, apple picking is actually a fun activity. There is also strawberry and blueberry picking in June or July in one of the local orchard too. Haven’t been any strawberry picking yet.
By the way I love honey crisp too, it’s crunchy…
You have a good week, hope to chat with you soon.
