- Blogging on my life events & whatever that comes to my mind!
The bridge on 35W and along Washington Ave collasped into the Mississippi River in Minneapolis during rush hour this evening. I was getting ready to head out to school to pick up my grades and “Breaking News”. My first thought was terrorism, but then I thought, no, can’t be. Must be the hot weather. Last year some of the highways and cit roads buckled up due to the heat.
The first to call us was SD. Her hospital called her in. DB and I are both at home. Initially I thought it was the bridge on 35W over the Minnesota River, and I think that was what SD thought. Her BF called, too, and then a stream of calls from MIL, BIL, SIL and nephews if we are ok.
Both of us are doing fine. I hope Forrest is not around that area.
Aiyah I should just check your blog the next time.
Tried to call you at my locak time 1145 pm,,
hehehe…..guess you are asleep . Folks are worried. They are the one who alerted me to the news.
Glad to hear you are Ok
Hello Dawn
I heard about that bridge collapse this morning, iun Germany. Thank goodness you are OK.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by my blog. Appreciate the visit.
Sorry typo… *in Germany.
Hi J.T. Thanks for dropping by. Yes, I’m glad both hubby and I are fine and we do not use that bridge for our commute to work. However, I feel so sad about what happened.
Glad you are okay and your family too. I heard of the collapse last night and I thought of Lynne, Simmie, and you. Though I think Simmie is in Malaysia now so she must be okay.
Worry about my old blog friend Lynne who lives there to. She was from Singapore and had a blog titled the Cat Lady though she quit blogging. She said she would keep in touch but i have not heard from her in more than a year. Wish she would show up and say hello I’m okay.
SA – Sorry, I do not know her. I agree, it would be nice if she pop a message and tell her friends she is fine.
glad to hear u’re ok. was wondering if anyone i knew in the US were affected or not. then again, i hardly have anyone in US so less worries la.
Hi Dawn, noticed your name in JT’s blog, and being kaypoh saw you Aiyah Nonya’s sister? And you in MN, US?
Glad you are safe re the bridge. Saw it in the news here. Very sad to see…I mean people going home and satu kali masuk river, Holy Smoke!
Just pure suay luck, I guess.
You have a nice day, Dawn. UL.
Hi Yvy, thanks.
Hello Uncle Lee, Yeah, I’m in MN and good thing is we don’t have to use that bridge to and from work. DB uses the other 35W bridge that is across the MN river.
It’s very unfortunate for these folks and the videos from MNDoT showed a clip where the bridge was and all of a sudden just disappeared.
You have a good day too!
