Counting Calories

Since I dropped the last cigarette butt into the butt pail, five months ago, I have been slowly gaining weight little at a time.  It really sucks big time.  I was told that go for walks or any form of exercise will help your cravings.  Yes, it helped but no matter how much I speed walk and run, well, very little running now, I pants ands shirts are getting tighter. 

I am now cutting  my breakfast of oatmeal down.  It helped me because I am using free calorie counter to journal how much food I eat every day.  It has a calorie counter so I can measure how much calories I am taking in per meal.  Another great thing is I can see how much calories I burned when I walk 2 miles a day which is 169 calories for 45 minutes, not much at least it is something.

Hello Dawn, you smoked before and quit recently? Good for you. Yes, I hear and have seen friends who quit putting on some weight.
I guess could be one tends to nibble or munch on something when get the craving for a cigarette.
I smoke a pipe as I can’t get my favourite brand of unfiltered Lucky Strikes.
Only smoke cigarettes when friends from overseas come for visit and get for me at duty free, my ‘airport tax’ I call it, ha ha for fetching them from airport.
Talking about losing weight, a lady friend of mine, she a Japanese 7 months ago weighed same as me, 195 pounds, only I am a 6’1″ guy and she barely passing 5’2″.
She gave us her bag of sticky rice which Japanese people eat daily 6 months ago and went on a crash diet of vegetables and whatever as well took detours around McDonalds and other fast food.
Today she is a shapely, vivacious, voluptious lady and wears a new wardrobe.
When I saw her last week, I was admiring her without recognising her till she called me, “hoi”! Then only I recognised her! Holy Smoke! She now a sexy 135 pounds and aiming to hit 125 max. 7 months! She did it!
All her friends can’t recognise her, she not married and men now asking her for dates. Ha ha.

Uncle Lee, yes, I quit becoz my hubby was craving for his Windsor cocktails. Thought I should quit my bad habit to give him the support. I still remember buying cigarettes from the airport, so cheap. I have to say, smoking jacked up my metabolism and I can eat a cow and still be skinny. Now, aiyo, must really work hard and watch what I’m eating. Can’t eat much junk food and gotta watch the carbs too. I’m really writing down what I’m eating these days which helps and only eat 3 meals a day. That’s it. Nothing else, but quite hard coz there’s too much sinful food from my sister. So, really have to walk double fast to lose a pound! Thanks for dropping by Uncle Lee!
