All the rain we had since Friday and still raining as I’m writing this, BIL’s basement was drowned with water. The sump pump could not keep up with all the rain. He got up at around 1 am on Sunday morning to take a leak and hear noises in downstairs. As soon as he walked down the stairs he heard water and knew what that was. Their brand new refurbished basement flooded with water. He is now wondering if he needs to get a truck rack to haul all the stuff out from the basement to his daughter’s place. I know for sure he had his son and son in-law tore up the carpet on Sunday morning. They still have to remove those brand new leather sofa, entertainment center and all the accompanying gadgets he bought 3 months ago. So sad. Some of the counties south of the Twins Cities are flooded, 6 people died and the rain is still coming down.
Now are’t you glad you had not done anything to your basement yet. Tell that to your nosy SIL.
Better still move upwards like I did. Unless God sent another rain like in Noah’s time. Then sorry lah. Must wait for the new ark to come by.
Btw how is ‘Hanibal Rising’ ? Good or Zzzz….. movie ?
Or you and DB had your own a ‘rising’ ?
Hi Dawn,
How have you been? Did you have a good weekend? Yeah, talking about the sudden of too much rain since Friday. I do like rain but I just don’t really dig the dark gloomy days. It makes me so un-hyper!
Talking about RD, hahaha, that place is really addictive huh? You are lucky that you have an understanding hubby who let you do whatever you want. Kudos to your hubby. My old dude was ok when I shop but since I am a stay at home month for nearly 17 months already, he thinks that we should save up and think for the kid’s future. Can’t blame him for wanting to be thrifty. Besides, it was not only RD that I spent on. There’s also the Macys( I have read somewhere in your blog that it was one of your fav store tooo hahah!), Gap, Kohls etc. Imagining my shopaholic behaviour!
Nice that you are going back to Ipoh. When is your trip? I haven’t been home to Melaka ( my hometown) since I stepped foot in US , almost 4 years. First year here, didn’t get to go home becoz I was waiting for my GC. Second year got my conditional GC and started working, didn’t get to apply for that long vacation, third year was preggie lor and this year, didn’t want to go home becoz Little Dude is still too young to take such long flights. I do miss home though!
So youlive in Burnsville? I have been there about 3 times, stop by at the chinese buffet after the temple visits in Farmington. yeah, my old dude is a laotian.
you have a nice day k…
Nicole
Hi Nicole,
Now fav place to shop is Aeropostale. I still love Kohls. Their sales are damn cheap and I can shop there for the entire house.
I’m sure there are a lot of changes in Melaka since 4 years ago. My sis and all my friends told me Ipoh changed so much. I’m so eager to see it.
So, how is this new temple in Farmington? I should drag my hubby to go there. He loves temples.
You have a great day, too!
Hey AN, I’m just glad we didn’t get that much rain as they did. They had 10 some inches. And as moving upwards, that will be the day when I’m single again!!!
Oh, Hannibal Rising is really good. I watch it by myself. DB wasn’t interested in gory movies. I love them. It’s worth renting it again. Gong Li’s performance in this movie is quite good.
