I think the bill probably included the cortisone injection. Last time I had one of those cortisone shot cost me $200 something.

No, it does not include the shots, just the pair of orthotics. The shots were in another statement which insurance already paid.

OMG!! I know the doctor don't care who cover your insert, they just want your biz,so they will tell you it's cover by your insurance..I'm so sorry to heard that you have to paid 2/3 of the cost..as Mishu doctor and Eliot doc told us, no insurance compnay will cover for orthotics.we told Mishu doctor we are not going to make orthotics for her coz she change her shoes size every 6 months.what is the point to make her a pair orthotics every year? eventhought we have to pay 20% of the orthotics....but still it's quite a sum when add up..hope they will accept your payment..maybe you should tell them you don't have $$ to pay them.ask for lower price or not paid at all!! tell them they slaughter you..even NY is any expensive city they still charge lower price than MN..tell them that! Eliot total cost of his orthotics is $499!

Elliot's only costs $499??? Wow, that was way way cheaper than mine. I don't know why mine cost so much. Blardy hell, I definitely need to call up the insurance company and go plead my case.

oh man, that is not good, paying half is still better than now the amount you have to pay. Your insert is really expensive, is it like full feet or half foot? Mine was half a foot type....and it's 448 per pair...I have to pay about 20 % already I am pissy..yes do a payment plan, ask them to stretch to the max months if they can....
anyway, hope to catch up with you soon..pls take care my dear...

My inserts are 3/4 foot and they are the thick ones, not those half foot but the plastic ones like the hubs have. Those are cheaper. Yeah I am going to call the ins company and talk to them about the bill. See what they have to say....maybe have to get you to talk to them to "fire" at them! :)

Always call the insurance company and ask them how much they will pay, the doctors do NOT know how much insurance will pay. And they don't really care, because they know what insurance doesn't pay, you will have to!!!!

I did call the insurance folks. The girl I talked to at the ins company told me as long as my doctor send it the pre-certification the inserts will be covered. And that's what the doc did faxed in the docs and I had to sign a form from the clinic if the inserts were not fully covered by insurance I will foot the balance. The doc told me usually ins will cover majority of it and patient will pay 1/4 or 1/2 the bill.

If they won't take payments...maybe you should return the left one so you only owe half of the bill!
