The Weekend
By Three Crazy Dogs | August 27, 2007
This weekend went by quick and I was busy, too. I met up with Simmie at Ikea on Friday afternoon. We were already chatting via Gmail Chat on Friday morning and she mentioned she is going to Ikea, I was “I want to go, too!!” I have not seen her since late June before she left for KL. It was nice to see her again. We had our early dinner and then shopped. I know we had a blast. As usual we were chatting from the moment we met till we left the parking grounds. When I got home, had some left overs with DB and told him what sofa I want to buy from Ikea. He said, “Go for it.” Sounds so easy!
Then I was on the phone with Moonlight_Tears for almost 2 hours!! Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the time when we hung up. It was a great pleasure to chat with you, Nicole!
Simmie and I met again on Saturday. We were supposed to meet up with Nicole for some Dim Sum, but she couldn’t make it. I’m sure the three of us will get a chance to meet. So, Simmie and I went to Minneapolis Farmers’ Market. I bought a bunch of veggies and fruits. I gave my self a $30 budget, shucks, I withdrew $50 and bought almost $40 worth of goods.
For lunch we went to Jasmine Deli and had Vietnamese noodles. I’m a noodle freak, so any noodles will work fabulously for me. The green tea bubble drink was good and so was the grilled pork sandwich. I bought two of the sandwiches home for dinner, DB loved it. He said he could eat another one of it. Now I know what to get him.
After lunch, we went to United Noodles for some mooncakes and I bought more groceries. Got back to her place and sorted our groceries, split the cakes, picked up my stuff I tumpang her to get for me at St Michael’s, KL. Once I got home, I went grocery shopping at Cubs and hung out at Satay-2-Go for a bit chatting with the lady boss, Corrine. By the night was over, I was beat.
Mooncake from United Noodles
Some of the loot from the farmers’ market: corn, cherry tomatoes, and Thai chilies. Not in picture are cherries, onions and shallots, green beans.
Morning came and was woken up by the furry alarm clock Ranger. Cooper trained Ranger well. It used to be Cooper’s duty, and I presumed Ranger picked it up from Coops. So Coops now is the big boss, just lays there and Ranger does the duties. Actually Ranger is getting very daring. He never was that noisy, nosy and boisterous. Anyways, we love it that he is enjoying his new family.
OK, back to the updates, boys and I went for our walk, and when I came home, I was on the phone with Simmie. After I was done on the phone, I got lazy!! Wanted to bathe the boys, but I putzed around looking through the flyers, chatting with DB and had lunch. Vacuumed and cleaned the bathrooms, and then I went to Corrine’s for the rest of the afternoon. By the time I got back at 6:45 p.m., had dinner and made some dinner for the week, I was past 8 o’clock. Time just zoomed by when we are having fun. Folded some grocery bags and I called it a night. I was wiped!
Today is a start of another same-old, same-old work week.

Wah busy girl. So when is the new sofa arriving ? Is it from the E….something….. trop or k, range. Looks familiar. Just like mine. Except mine is a 2 and 3 seater.
I bought mooncakes from Ipoh’s Foo San while I was back home. Will show you the pictures later. So, how are the mooncakes. Any good ? They must have cost you an bomb. No wonder you nearly over spend.
And the market is so dry, clean and bright. Still remember the market in Ipoh and the chicken stalls. It is still the same.
btw do they have the swedish meatballs in the Ikea at your side. Over here it is good bussiness at the Ikea’s restaurant. Nearly everyone go for it. My boys included except for H.
What did you get from Marks and Spencer ? Want any from my here ?
Yes, it’s that EKTORP range. Just like yours. I saw it and wanted to get one since I slept on it two years ago
Still in good condition, right?? I still can’t decide if I should get the corner sofa or the sofa and love seat. Corner cost $121 more than the or two combined. I showed DB the covers you have, he said, “Urgh, not that color!!”
I have not tried the mooncake yet. Yes, the mooncake was expensive – shipped all the way from HK. I still owe Simmie a check!
Yes, Ikea over here has Swedish meatballs. I don’t get them coz DB makes them once in a blue moon.
Yeah, the farmers market is so clean and does not smell stinky at all. Only smells of veggies, no chicken shit anywhere!
Oh, at M&S, I had Simmie bought me the cookies you had sent me. Check your Hotmail. Yes, I will give you a list for what I want from your little kiasu island later. Gotta take care of the ticket first.

Another perfect weekend smashed by Monday. Wish they had a farmers market that was closer to my place. There is one, but a long drive to the wrong side of town.
SA: Wish I have one more day add on to my weekends. There is a farmers market around the my place too, but since Simmie brought me to the big one in Minneapolis, I don’t go to the smaller ones.

Must let Ikea knows. “Fell in love after sleeping on it”. maybe they will give it to you at a discount.
Yeah my sofa is still around. Boys have not ‘kill’ it yet.
will check my mail.
You bet I will let them know. First hand experience! Don’t hope for a discount, though.
