It came and gone again
The weekend flew by again. I wanted to do some shopping on Friday but I was succumbed to the couch – the couch was calling me. I was out like a light and didn’t hear my cellphone ring. As usual my furry alarm clocks woke me up as it was way, way, way past their dinner. Their routine is so set….
At last the temperature dropped to the 50s in the evenings, ah, it just feels good to have that cool refreshing air – free air-conditioning for us. DB is already feeling cold and it’s not exactly fall yet. The leaves are starting to turn. Some are turning red and yellow. I wanted to take some pictures but again, I was busy at the mall.
I was out shopping on Saturday for our usual weekend groceries. I stopped in at Kohls to exchange the shirts I bought for my mom, and was disappointed there was no size on the one I wanted. Bummer, so I went to the juniors for myself to shuffle through the sale racks. 70 – 80% off. Can’t resist that, can’t we, especially for we ladies who love to shop. Found a pair of capris for $8 and tried on some shirts which I didn’t like. Next stop, kitchenware. Bought some gifts to bring over for my family. Not going to reveal them here coz, my sis, there are some for you, too! Put her on suspense mode :D
Stopped over at my usual stop, Satay 2-Go, chatted and picked up my “Siew paus” and steamed buns, more chatting till a family of 6 came in – parents and their 4 boys, that’s when all hell broke loose. It’s like the Chinese say “Pong lei chak ook” (Help you to break the house). The banging noises made by the 4 boys were too much. It was to the extend of extreme. The parents I think gave up on trying to keep the the boys quiet. They just sat there watching their kids. (They are Malaysians, too.)
The rest of Saturday evening and night was spent watching NASCAR Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway. This race was the defining race in the season that decide who will be in the Chase. My guys, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson made it to the Chase. The last 100 laps of the race was so good. Kept me sitting on the edge of the seat, eyes all glued to the TV, oblivious to my surroundings. Jimmie won the race but Gordon, my fav driver came in 4th. I’m disappointed Tony Stewart is in the Chase. Let hope there’s engine problems for him for the next 10 races :)
Sunday came too quickly and did another round of shopping after I cleaned the house. DB said he will cook for the week. YES!!! Satay 2-Go lady boss and I went to TJMax and shopped till I had to leave at 5:30 p.m. Didn’t want to go, but had to. Gotta have dinner with DBster, thought I better be nice to him! Bought another pair of pants and a little bit more stuff to bring over for my family. I was looking for a big round mirror for the dining room, couldn’t find any, and off I went to the check out. Bought six items and the total came to $26+. Love shopping at TJMax because of the prices – branded goods but one pay half the price for all items.
Monday and here I am back to the grind stone “acting busy”.

Wow! So you are a serious NASCAR fan. I used to love watching Richard Petty when I was a kid. :)
Yes, I am and will always go for the No. 24. I really looking forward to see Junior with the Hendrick team next year.
