The damn dryer

By | January 3, 2007

Before we moved in to our house, we told the owners the dryer stays as it is a gas dryer and ours is a electric dryer. Everything is all fine and dandy till we did a load of laundry and put them in the dryer. Set the timer for an hour since they were jeans and sweat pants/shirts. An hour passed and checked the clothes, bloody hell, still so damp. Set the timer for another 40 minutes, and still not dry and then I set it for 30 minutes more. At last, afer two hours and ten minutes the clothes were dry. What kind of f-up dryer is that?? DB cleaned up the vents, vacuum it and even the lint filter, the results were the same. The gas bill sky rocketed to $150 plus. I have never paid that much for gas. Really outrageous.

DB had it, too with the dryer since he is the one who does the laundry. We called in the electrician yesterday who is my boss’ son (give him some businesslah, poor kid is unemployed right now) and gave us a price and DB said Okie Dookie. Mr Electrician will be back on Saturday to install a 2×20, I think that’s what they said which I have no damn interest at all. Once that whatever is installed, we will hook our electric dryer up and donate the old pathetic dryer or dump it.

Then the next project is to fix the leaking washer and install more electrical outlets in the house and hopefully install a ceiling fan in the living room and master bedroom which according to DB is going to be a BITCH to do.

Laundryamah – thanks for dropping by. The stupid dryer is definitely “sot sot tei”. We never had any problems with gas dryers before. and that stupid brand is GE somemore. Our guess is that the damn dryer must as old as the house – 40 years old??

Mae – Your old man can handle that kinda stuff – take one thing at a time.
