Kale anyone?
By Three Crazy Dogs | February 1, 2012
That’s my new favorite veggie. Greens are good for us, right? Well, I for one have not been eating my veggies especially these leafy ones. My all time fav was broccoli. My friend eats kale all the time and says the veggie tastes so good. Finally I grabbed one bundle at Tar-jay for 99 cents. There’s about 7 stalks in that bundle.
Well, I guess I am in love with kale. I had it with my noodles, salad and on this picture, with my crustless quiche and rice. Next I want to lightly stir fry it. The only thing I want to experiment is the stalk. It’s so darn fibrous and kinda bitter when I tried it. I only eat the leaves. I might steam the stalks and cut them up, just to see how it tastes.

I love kale. I like to stir-fry
It like kangkong belachan or masak lemak.

Gert, do you include the stems, too, or use just the leaves?

Che-Cheh, I didn’t know that. That’s a real bummer.

Masak lemak I will include the stems as you normally cook
It longer and it will get to soft but stir fry I exclude it.
