Smart for Two for 2008
The 2008 preview of car models is out on MSN and sure enought the Smart for Two is one of them. I wonder how well it will sell in US. In my previous post that was the first time I saw it when DBster sent the email to me. Yes, it looks like a coffin car, but the most important thing is it has great gas mileage. The report on MSN said this car is designed to achieve 40+ miles per gallon. That is very damn good for a small two-passenger vehicle. I wonder how it flys on the freeways. Can it go up to 80 mph without feeling the car shaking as if it’s about to fall apart? Just kidding. I know it won’t. I found this website with more review on this new baby from Daimler-Chrysler. My concern is if there is rear end accident, there is not much protection on the back of the driver and passenger since it is a two-passenger car. And the price tag is not cheap either, $11K – $15K. Maybe when opportunity starts knocking on our doors, I might be able to get a used Smart to commute to work.

Hi Dawn, ahhh, you love cars too, huh? Re the ‘Smart car’…I think I would get very nervous driving this baby on the highways with the monster 62 footer rigs passing by.
Maybe for going to the malls might be okay for me…but not too sure my XXL 6’1″ 198 pound frame can get in, ha ha.
If money drop from Heaven for me, I’ll go for the latest Mercedes 350 Blue Tec, a diesel. It is not only frugal on gas but very powerful same time. One tankful and you can go more than a 1000 km.
My present Lincoln T/C yam seng gas like a bride groom at a wedding dinner!
Oh ya, right now I’m fantasising about the latest BMW M3 with the V8 engine, a lipstick red one of course. Coming out anytime now.
This is the car when you feel like sneezing, make sure your foot is off the pedal…or might sneeze past 3 lamp posts or kiss the back of a Harley ridden by an Hell’s Angel. Ha ha.

Hi Uncle Lee, Thanks for dropping by. I know what you mean driving that little mouse on a freeway next to the 18-wheelers. Probably will fly off to see Dorothy! I actually wouldn’t mind the Mini Coopers compare to the Smart2, but I think this Smart2 has better gas mileage. Gas prices is outrageously crazy. 10 years ago gas was $1.03/gallon, and we dont’ see that anymore. But when I was in Vancouver 5 years ago, I saw the gas prices were so much more expensive (Canadian $) $3.5.
Back to the cars, hubby’s dream cruising car is a Linclon Town Car. He drove his grandma’s linclon TC several times and he said that’s what he wants to get when he joins the wrinkle club!
But since you said it’s a gas guzzler, I think I rather look take a look at Chryslers!You take care, ULee!
