Parcel from Aiyah Tai Loh
My ai-yah brother sent me a parcel last week. I was kinda surprised to see it that soon. He sort of mentioned about VHS tapes during our email exchanges. I didn’t not expect to see the tapes that soon. Of course when I received the parcel and saw the return address, I knew it had to be the tapes. So, what kind of tapes were they? They can’t be “hamsum” (X-rated) tapes, right? He is not that type of person from what I know about him. I thought they were movies pertaining to classical music since we are classical enthusiasts. In a way they were related to the subject. They were classical tapes on Introduction to the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras. He bought those tapes when he was taking music courses at Stanford and Cornell. Those tapes were sitting in the basement collecting dust and he is not using them anymore.
Alright! I can now learn some of the stuff he was telling me about Chopin’s music. I’m so rusty on my theory of music, I asked my sis to send me the rudiments I had used when I was studying music in Ipoh.
This guy is only into education. “Pooi fook hoi”. Each time we get into the subjects of classical music and school, he will go on and on and on and on…………. I told him he inspires me to keep up with my schooling and it sure is pushing me to GET ‘R DONE.

By the way I think he is a real book worm.Don’t see anything else around him except books and more books.
Let us know once you have met him.

So is an ai-yah brother blood relative, or just a good friend. Trying to understand the concept. I understand brother. And I understand ai-yah as it is part of my vernacular.
No matter what it is good to have someone that keeps ya steered in the right direction.

SA – my ai-yah brother is actually my step-brother. Yeah, each time he talks about education and how important it is “No one can take education away from you” those are his words, the more I want to get my 2-year in ASAP.
