The right recipe

Db and I were having our dinner this evening, his cellphone beeped notifying him of a text message in his Inbox.  As usual he ignores anyone who calls or text us at this time of the day.  It’s our time. 

We finished dinner and dishes, I was getting ready to give the boys their evening treats, DB checked his cellphone while making coffee for tomorrow. 

Me:  Your girlfriend (SD) again?
DB: Yep. How did you guess? (Grining away)
Me: What’s new, she always calls you at the wrong time.
DB: (Reading the text msg) You know, she’s (SD) been whining a lot.
Me: Really? Because of her hormones playing tricks on her?  What now?
DB: (Reading from the text msg) “We are getting sick of eating the same thing over and over again.”
Me: Tell her it’s the same for us.
DB: OK, I will tell her exactly what you said.

5 seconds later….

Me: That was a quick response from her.  I bet you she doesn’t need to look at the keypad and punched the message out.
DB: No shit….(reading the text msg out loud) “We need new recipes.”
Me: Well, there’s meat loaf, beef stragonoff, chicken noodle soup…. (then cut short by DB)
DB: Will BF eats them? He is such a picky eater.
Me: Tough shit. What are you going to tell her?
DB: Well, the “bun” recipe seems to be doing good. (A deep laugh from him.)
Me: (Laughing out loud)
DB: Ok it’s sent.
Me: You really sent it?  Hopefully she won’t get mad (still laughing). Coz if she does, you won’t get a ride to downtown tomorrow for your attorney’s appointment! Her hormones may rob her sense of humor away, you know.
DB: Shit, no kidding.  You’re right. I  better call her in a bit.

(The “bun” we are referring to is SD and BF’s creation that she is baking in her right now.)

SD text her dad and said “That recipe definitely had the right ingredients.”  Way to go girl.  Anyway, DB called her and listened to her whine.  She just wants someone to liten to her whining.  She is cool with that “bun” thing and according to her, she is at 11 weeks today and is a size of a lime.  DB said hope it’s not sour!
