This week’s theme is Old-fashioned. It was not too easy for me to look for some thing that is oldfashion in manner. Nothing in our house look oldfashioned enough and I didn’t want to go out in the snow scouting around either. I looked through my Photobucket and found a few pictures that I consider “oldfashion”. These pictures were taken in my parents’ home during my last visit.
Picture of my grandfather hanging in the dining room. He was dressed in the typical Chinese men’s attire back in the early 1900s, I think. I don’t think men in China now dress like this anymore.

This is my mom’s sewing machine. I don’t see this oldfashion sewing machine around much as it is being replaced by the modern electric ones.

You grandfather is one handsome looking fellow no matter what he has on.
I remember my mom had a sewing machine like that. Then one Christmas my dad gave her an electric one which she loved. That woman could patch some jeans and she had to with me for a son.
Big huggies to ya. I am so happy to receive that big box of Malaysia you sent me. Had to fight the kids for my share of cuttlefish. Fought the missus for my crisps. lol. And the curry tasted yummy and kopi is getting me off to a good start each morning. I cannot say thank you enough. And thanks to DB too. Apologize for not expressing my thanks to you sooner.
SA, I’m thinking of getting an electric sewing machine myself. It will save me a lot of money for alterations.
No apologies needed. As long as you are in good health and being your crazy self, that is all I want to hear! Welcome back and you are very welcome!

This is the second treadle sewing machine I have seen on today’s theme and it looks like yours is definitely in regular use. I have one in a cabinet exactly like that one, but the decorations are different and mine had been electirfied. It is missing some of the parts to make it work as a treadle. I have been able to collect some of them to restore it to its former state, but have not been able to find a “pittman arm”. You can find out the date of its manufacture and where it was made at the Singer company website by looking up int serial number.
BTW, your grandfather is handsome, too.
