Photohunt: Heavy

PhotoHunters

This week’s theme is Heavy.  I wanted to put a picture of DB up – a picture that he kept telling me he looks “heavy”, but then I thought I better not, he will definitely be giving me that WTH look for letting the whole wide world to see that picture!  So, I browsed through my collection of pictures and found the pictures of our fallen tree – the 70 mph heavy winds that brought the young Mr. Oak down.  This happened last year August in the middle of the night while the entire neighborhood were asleep.  I told DB we could move the tree out of the street and he said, “Do you know how heavy a fallen tree is???”  No, I don’t coz I am a city girl, and I did try to move the tree by grabbing on to a bunch of branches, it didn’t move an inch.  Well, that’s by picture of “Heavy”.

No, I don’t think I could lift that “heavy” tree either. Nice choice for today.

That’s funny that you tried to move it yourself! I’m assuming your city or town did it? Sorry it toppled over. Must’ve been a lot of rain beforehand.

I guess you soon found out how HEAVY that tree was, huh?

awww… poor tree, its really heavy.

  7. Caroline Says:

LOL you did not really try to move it. I wouldn’t be able to move it either.

Heavy winds take down heavy trees. Dry wood is much lighter but as a whole tree, still not easy to move. Good choice.

Thank goodness no one was hurt.
    Sending good vibes your way.

You were blessed it was only a tree, and not the roof. Great photo and have a good weekend.

It is surprising how heavy a tree is. You never think of it until there is one in your way. We were given the task of cutting a section out of one that had fallen across a trail. Ha! Fat chanc! Another time we were headed home from the mountains and one had fallen across the road in the previous night’s windstorm. No moving that! Fortunately someone came along with a chain saw.
