Mysore Cafe

26 March 2007 by Two Crazy Dogs

I met up with Wombie’s Burrow on Sunday for some shopping and then headed to this restaurant, Mysore Cafe located on Hennepin Avenue, for our lunch. It’s an all vegan restaurant that serves South Indian cuisines. The complimentary dosai that came with the buffet were so good, I could have eaten more of them if they refill the plate! I’m a real glutton :)

Mysore Cafe will be the next meeting place when my bro comes to town. Since he is a vegetarian and he loves Indian food, I think this will be a good place for his chow. He was asking me about vegetarian restaurants in Mpls. Well, now if he comes to the Cities, he can check this place out. The decor is not too bad - plain and simple, and the prices are very reasonable.

I would come here again for a good round of food.

I so want to eat some Indian food. Though I have to have some lamb. Not ready to vegan yet. :P

Wah ! Getting ready so soon ?
I still have not thought of how to ‘repay’ him .

    Hmm…. Dosai.
Have you tried the Masala Dosai ? There are vege’s wraped in the it.
One of that will do for me. It is really feeling.

Did you go native and eat with your fingers ? Indian food must eat with fingers-lah. Then you can get the full flavour-mah. :)

SA - yeah lamb sounds really good. Texas style brisquet that’s what i want to try.

AN - must plan in advance lah. Who knows when he will pop up one day with no advance notice.

No, didn’t try any other items from the menu. Just tried all on the buffet spread and that was enough for us. Eat with fingers? say, no man, didn’t even think about it. Might do it when we go to the other Indian restaurant coz we saw a lot of the folks were using their hands.

Excuse me Miss Potato…we use the fingers not the whole hand to eat the food. Only sakai like you use your whole hand. One look will know you are a sakai when comes to eating with your hands. After eating, only the fingers are dirty not your hands or palms.

Please pratice, before doing it or you will stick out like a sore thumb !
Or should I say ’sore hand’ ! Hahaha

there’s two veg places down on Lyndale - French Meadows and Ecopolitan (lots of raw and organic food.

If your bro likes Ethiopian food, there’s a nice place in St Paul. Very reasonable prices.
