This weekend we girls had a wonderful CNY gathering at Peninsula, a Malaysian cuisine restaurant in Minneapolis.  Simmie, Leena, Leena’s friends (sorry, can’t remember your names), Tik and his wife, Forrest’s BIL Darren, their nanny Danniella, and his daughter Maddie were there to join the feast.  This is the first time I met Leena.  It was nice seeing the person who I have been following her blog for a while in person.  It’s great to get to meet you at last, Leena.

The above are some of the food we had and pictures of Daniella, Maddie, Leena, me and the group picture with Simmie at the front.

Thanks again for the company, girls.  Hope we can do that again next year.

Nice to meet you too. You know what? I forgot to get your phone number.

I will post my pics up soon, now left eye bengkak and I think probably will be sick in a day or two.

Too bad Nicole missed it. =(
I am glad that you girls had fun.
The food looks yummilicious. Don’t care I must go Peninsula soon, I want the food that you girls ordered.
What’s in the yam ring thing? I remember I used to eat yam ring back in Melaka and they have the spare ribs together. But the one in Peninsula I can’t tell because they topped it with some garnishs?
How was your weekend? It was really cold today and bundle up yeah. gonna be cold for awhile wind chills below sub zero.

Seems more enjoyable than back in Mal. I tell you, the weather is so damn hot here, you don’t want to come back. It’s still very hot, very punishing weather. I hope I can migrate to some cooler countries for sure.

Leena, we were so busy chatting I forgot too. I will email it to you. I hope you feel better – why mata bengkak – peeping Tom, kut? :)

Nicole, Hopefully we can meet up some weekend. Oh the yam thingy has chicken, shroomies, snowpeas, cashews. No ribs, tho it does sound really good. How was your trip to the windy city? Update it on your blog la! You stay warm too!

SY, I’m so glad it’s still winter during CNY, if not I will be roasting like roast pig. Weren’t you in Taiwan many moons ago? Was that only temporary? I wish your dream of migrating to a cooler country will come sooner. :)

So does the food taste like authentic Malaysian food?

Jam: The CNY dishes are good, like those you get in Chinese wedding banquets.
