My fav flower out on the yard, but DB hates it with a passion.

Yup, it’s the most pain in the ass weed, dandelions. I find them pretty coz I had no idea they were weeds. I remember when I was a kid, I would pick those flowers. Not till I came here, I was told by my dear “gardener”, this dandelions are the toughest to get rid off.

That’s our backyard or more like a moon surface – patchy grass all over.

Crabapple tree flowers, love them each spring.

Here’s is a better view of the patchy backyard with the two limpy boys, Ranger and Chase, chilling

And, finally, the youngest but has to be first all the time.  He sits funny.  When he gets ready to sit, he will put all his weight on his front legs, the hind legs are just like a gymnast doing a hand stand, hind legs hanging in the air, straight out.

I’m bored! We are bored!

Ranger here.  I have been laying on this spot waiting for my mistress to take me out for my walks since Monday.  I understand why she didn’t want to take me and my other bros out for a walk on Sunday.  We were all aching from Saturday’s walk/run at the dog park.  So, what is stopping her from taking us for our walks?  She is lucky I am not bugging her as much as the other two hooligans.

Photobucket

Here is Cooper.  He is not as patience as I am.  Cooper and that young bugger were bugging the hell out of the mistress.  She didn’t even budge.  She planted her butt on the chair and punching away on the lappie.  Cooper looks as bored as I am.  Cooper sure knows how to get her attention tho.  He will sit next to her chair, nudge his snout under her elbows till she gives in.  The funny thing is I thought she would yell, “Knock it off!”  But nope, Cooper is still the special fella in this household.  He gets some special treatment from her.  Not from the master tho.

Photobucket

What about that young buck wheat, Chase?  He is spoiled to high heaven by the master and mistress.  He definitely gets a lot of attention from them.  He is bored too, I can see.  How I know?  Coz he kept asking to get out to the backyard and lay on the whatever snow that is left on the patio.  Yeah, he is worse than me.  Chase and Cooper will practically “begs” to go out of the house and then in again, the minimum 15 times a day By the way, these pics were taken on Monday.  This buck wheat is aching, limping really bad.  He sure likes to lay on the snow probably to take the pain away from both his legs.

Tomorrow is Thursday.  I sure hope my mistress will get her widening butt out of the house and walk us.  If not I think I will have to confront her and speak my mind and on my bros’ behalf.  Today, I guess I can forgive her for not walking us.  The moment she got home from work, she rush to get dinner ready, some kind of dinner that really smells darn good.  The braised chicken recipe she told the master was from here.  Good thing there were left overs from tonight’s dinner.  I over heard from them the chicken dinner was damn good.  Yeah, good, but we the furry speed bumps do not get any at all.  Speaking of being fair!  OK, so they have left overs, that means she and the master do not have to cook tomorrow evening.  This means she will have to take me and my bros for our walks.  Seriously, if there is no walks in tomorrow, me and my bros are going to cause havoc in the house for them.

Our last snow fall which was last week.

*Ranger’s passing the time since he was housebound :) *

Yipee-ka-yeh!  The snow and ice is starting to disappear, and the robin is out.  Sorry, don’t have a telephoto lens, ok!  This is the best my P&S can do.  Picture taken by the patio door.

I can see the ground and brown grass.

And the boys are out on the patio soaking up the sun.

*Awwww, look at Chase, posing for the camera*

*A nap in before lunch, perhaps?*

Cooper was out of sight……he has to stick to me, like a leech.

*Finally, Cooper wants to snoop before daylight disappears*

Dogs, tough life they have, huh? :D

And the finale, since the weather is warming up to 50′s F with the blazing sun, it gets warm.  I know, I’m spoiled by the cold weather….what can I say??  This is how much I had my hair chopped off. Photobucket

And this is the final product….hve to blur it a little…coz…..I look terrible in pictures.Photobucket

Some pics of fresh snow

I took Ranger out to the trails on Friday afternoon. The other two were busy playing tug of war. Walking Ranger by himself is less stressful than when I walk him and Cooper together. I guess Cooper is too fast for Ranger so I have to hurry Ranger along.

Anyways, here are some of the pics I took of Ranger when we got to the trails.

*Ranger running towards me*

The above picture of Ranger is my favorite.  The poor boy was aching after he got back from his fun filled walk.  And he is still walking slow today.  I had a good hike myself that day.

And finally, a Safety meeting held under the tree on our backyard…I thought it’s cute to see the both of them together.

Photohunt: Hanging

PhotoHunters

This week’s  theme is Hanging.  Here is a picture of what’s left of the basketball net hanging by itself on the hoop.  This in-ground steel basketball pole, hoop, backboard, and net are as old as the house.  It was installed when the first owners moved-in in 1966.  The net felled apart last year, must be from the weather and wear and tear through the 40+ years.

Happy weekend, folks!

Comments Off

Yeeehah, the weekend is here.  I really like Friday and especially on payday Fridays.  Payday Fridays means no boss, hah, no boss to hawk over me.  I do take advantage when the boss is not around.  The big boss is in but he never bothers me.

Anyhoo, today I went for my First Aid and CPR class.  This class was given free to all employees who wish to learn about First Aid and CPR.  Before I went for this class, I had to take an online class which was 4 hours on the said subject.  After going through the lessons, every participant needs to pass the pre-assessment test at least 80% or higher.  It gives the participants two chances to take the test.  If you didn’t get at least 80% on the first go, you will have the last chance.  I had to take it twice.  I went through my lessons last week and didn’t take the assessment test on Wednesday.  Of course fail lah!!  What I read, heard, saw all forgotten.  Had to go over the lessons again and took the test.  Passed.

The actual CPR class was good.  We used dummies and practice mouth to mouth with a mouth barrier and chest compressions.  The instructor also taught us what needs to be done if there is an actual situation, how to give CPR to an unresponsive and responsive victim, and a choking victim.  We learned the Heimlich maneuverto expel the object from the choking victim.  And of course, some ladies asked what should be done if it was a little kid, a baby.  The maneuvers are certainly differently.  I really hope I don’t have to use it.  It’s a good to know kinda thing and the same goes with CPR. Giving chest compressions (30 compressions for every 2 breaths) is not easy.  Boy, they are tiring.

When I got home, I was late first off, I started playing with the camera again since tomorrow is Photohunt day.  The pictures below were taken with my Canon Powershot using the appeture and shutter speed mode.  I am still learning how to take pictures with the two features.  It seems to take better pictures than in Auto mode.  What you say??  Have a great weekend folks!
