Early Christmas pressie

26 August 2008

I received a very early Christmas present yesterday.  It came in a DHL package, asked DB what’s in there, he said it was for me. Saw the returned address from IBM Corporation and then…..my bro’s name, the bro in Boston.   Opened the package and box which was so light, as if there is nothing in there.

Then korek-korek the paper, I saw this…….

What it is???  It’s an iPod Nano.  Holy schmoly!  I was beaming from ear to ear.  I was going to hook it up to my PC to download my music and podcasts, but was too busy dinking with DB’s Blackberry.  He needs me to customized his phone…..i guess he thinks I’m more efficient with these sort of crap.

Ok, back to the iPod, I’m sure shocked to received it.  Never mentioned an iPod to him before.  So is it becoz he got one for my sis last year, he got one for me, too?  I had to call him today to thank him instead of writing him an email.  Unfortunately, the call went into his voicemail.  You know how it is talking to a machine, a lot of ahs, ers, and mhms.  Hope he gets what I was trying to say.

So, now, I’m gonna go mess around with it…….

Three chances for Marlboro Ranch trip

31 January 2008

DB received 2 red envelopes from Marlboro, just like what I had received in the weekend.  Those two envelopes are the exact ones, immediately I told DB we now have three chances to win a trip to the ranch, the Crazy Mountain Ranch in Montana.  Here are some pictures from our previous trip in the fall of 2006.  Excuse me for the crappy pictures.  The free camera provided by the sponsors were not that good. And yes, there were a lot of free gifts from them: digital cameras, hats, two luggages, backpacks, jackets, windbreakers, pens, picture frames, ashtrays, cigarettes, shirts, bandanas, I think that were all.

This was taken on the second day after our trip to the Yellowstone National Park.  It rained, sleet and snowed the whole day but we still enjoyed it.

This was inside the saloon where we have our breakfasts, lunches and happy hours.

Another Marlboro Trip??

27 January 2008

I received this from yesterday’s mail.

Yes, another Marlboro ranch sweepstake.  If you remember, DB and i were there in September of 2006.  This trips terms and condition states that if ”Any person who has won or received a Marlboro Ranch trip in a sweepstakes,…within the five-year peiod prior to 4/21/08, will not be eligible to win.”  DB told me to go ahead and call in to the number provided to enter. No harm if we didn’t get it.   But……………………………………

I ain’t no smoker anymore, why am I still receiving these entries and promotions from Marlboro?  Makes you wonder, huh?  I guess I stayed on their mailing list for the heck of to received these sort of promotions.  Who knows if we ever gonna get it; my gut instinct says no.  Results will be out on or about 4/18/2008.  Will know if we didn’t hear anything from Marlboro’s independent judging organization after that said date.

Pictures are up

4 January 2008

We hung some pictures up on Tuesday.  These pictures are the hardwork done by my sis, her cross-stitched all framed up when I was in Ipoh.  They have been sitting on the guest bed for almost a month, collecting dust.

These four pictures only costs RM$44 for the framing.  Man, if I were to take these to Michael’s or Joann’s, it will cost me a bomb, probably US$200 total.  My mom took me to this shop in Pasir Pinji (or is it Pasir Putih), that guy said he will charge RM$12 each.  My mom said, nope, RM$11/each.  So RM$11 it was for each picture after bargaining.  Wow, I still could not believed it for that price, and my mom still wants to negotiate the price down!  We put the above four pictures in the hallway facing the entryway.

The above three were also done by my sis, who else, certainly not me!  I tell you, the workmanship for all her crafts are just superb!!  Yeah, now she thinks I’m “bodeking” (kiss ass) her.  I’m not, it’s the truth.  The folks at Michael’s who framed the housewarming gift praised it and so did those other customers at the framing center.  Anyway, back to where I was going…..these three pictures, sorry, I’m not sure how much they costs.  My mom and sis took the three pieces of cross-stitched to the same shop for framing when I was on my way to KL, and brought the completed sets to KL before I left M’sia. We wanted to hang these three up in the living room, but the color of the mats are the same color as the living room.  It ended up on the wall outside our bedroom.

And here is the picture of the shop where all the cross-stitched work were framed:

Yeah, that’s my mom, see how pretty her legs are! :D  She will kill me if she sees this!
