There are nice people around

Comments Off

This picture was taken last month on one of my after work afternoon walks.

downsized_1019001531.jpg

Someone dropped their keys on their walk and a good samaritan found it and went all the way to put the bunch of keys in a ziplock and post it up on a diy cardboard sign  tied it on the speed zone post.   The very next day, the wind was gusting big time.  I saw the Lost keys and bag flopping around but it hung around for a day.  However, on the third day, the ziplock bag felled off the cardboard which I kinda thought it would coz the wind didn’t die down at all.  The ziplock is now in between the tall grass below the speed zone post.  The cardboard is no where to be found.

I walk past this every day the bag is still there.  Apparently the owners of this bunch of keys didn’t know some nice fella found them and put it hoping the owners will claim it.

The snow is going to fly tonight and tomorrow.  The weather guys said the most snow (6-8 inches) fromsouth of the metro and that’s we are now to the south of the state.  This bag of keys will be in “hiding” for a good 5 months!

Crazy October/November weather

Comments Off

The weather is so warm. Right now the temp is 64F and so was yesterday. I was short sleeves/t-shirt weather. I had on a long sleeves shirt and took the boys out for their walk and I was hot. Crazy.

I took this picture last month with temp of around lower 60′s F and people are out driving their motorcycles and roofless cars! :) Nice Camaro by the way.
1019001452.jpg

Last year this time I was already shovelling snow back at the old house.  This year, the ground is still warm, it’s cool in the mornings with temps of 30′s F(-1+ C) or 40′s (4+C).  Provided it’s not damn windy, it’s nice walking weather.  It’s actually nice to go out when I’m so warm when I get out from bed.  Yes I’m practically roasting in the bedroom even the vents are shut.  We don’t open the windows becoz of highway traffic.  The man said I’m always hot becoz of my pillows on me – I have to have a pillow on my chest when I’m sleeping.

The weather guys say today will be the last of the nice warm day for November.  I guess the cold will come bite us on our butts very soon.

The trooper thing

Comments Off

This picture was taken one of the days last week on my way home. I was on 35E heading south.  I know, I’m not suppose to fiddle around with stuff while driving….blogging material mah!

0915001457.jpg

Traffic was not too bad considering I left later than my usual time of 2:30. Once I merged to join the traffic on the slow lane, I noticed cars started to moved to the slow and middle lanes and I moved on to the fast lane (left). I was the only one left on the fast lane. The rest stayed on those 2 lanes. As usual I go the speed limit which is 70 mph and on that day, I was not sure what got me, I didn’t go the extra 5 miles (75 mph). I stayed on at 72 mph. I kept looking at my side and rear view mirrors cars were still on those lanes, none of them passed me either. Then I saw this State Trooper. No wonder these cars were going the speed limit and all were super behaving. I eventually moved to the middle lane and let him passed me. I stayed on the middle lane till the trooper moved to the middle lane and was practically going below the speed limit!

Of course being impatient, I passed him and I hanged on to the fast lane till the trooper exited.  Humans, we see cops, we immediately obeyed the rules.  Honestly after the trooper exited, I sped up to 75 mph and so did other cars!  Hypocrites we are!

Round up

Comments Off

It’s been a week since I wrote something here.   So much going on but just don’t have the mood to pen them down.  My mood is back to normal, whatever normal is.  At least I know I have my appetite to eat.  Whatever few pounds I had lost in a week’s, is  slowly creeping back!  Good and bad, I guess.  No more anxiety attacks!

Last Friday early morning it was raining crazy, so heavy the ground is not even soaking them in fast enough.  As usual the county we live in will sound the severe weather sirens on while we are asleep.  The numerous thunders work me up couple of times.  When I got up at 3:50 it was still pouring straight down.   No choice have to still take Ranger out for his business.  The other two, they can do it by the yard.

From all the rain that night/morning, we had water leakage in the walk-in closet in the master bedroom.  Water was leaking from the light that flows right into the globe, onto the carpet and also on the walls to the door frame (door to the walk-in closet).  DB saw it while he was getting ready for work.  And I was still using the switch to turn the light on for the closet room.  Stupid!!!!!

Since DB cannot use phones/pc or anything for communicating to the outside world, I have to call the landlord/lady when I got to work.  5 am to call them was too early.  I called them at 7, left a message, landlord called back right away.  That’s the start of the whole charade of  phone calls back and forth with him.   DB does not get home till 6:30-6:45 pm, I have to take care of it myself.  The landlord had management to call me to arrange for a time to fix it that day but landlord wanted to take a look at it first.  I left work at 12:30, went straight home and straighten the house!  Damn, need to pickup the crap that was laying all over the house, vacuumed and dust!  I was thinking to myself it was good that I vacuumed the stairs every week.  There is not much dog hair accumulated on the stairs from weekly vacuuming tho I bitch about doing it all the time….it’s a back breaker to vacuum the carpet on the stairs.  I have not dusted the house since we moved in in May.  Superb house keeper I am!!

Management and his crew sealed up the leak which was coming in from one of the vents, pulled out the insulation in the walls.  Thank goodness the carpets are spared, they weren’t soaking wet when we saw the leak.  The crew will be back tomorrow I think to install insulation since they said it will take about 3-4 days to get the walls dry up.

I’m hoping they will come in this afternoon or tomorrow since it’s DB’s weekend.  If they don’t show up on these two days, I will have to call the landlord to be there when the maintenance crew come – just for safety sake.

Need to detox

Comments Off

I am looking into ways to detox, get rid of all the crap that’s in my system. I notice my skin is not clear like what it was when I was prepping for my colonoscopy in April. All the purging and fasting absolutely did my skin good. It was so much clearer, brighter and definitely no need for acnepril for the acnes. Yes, I was very surprise what the prep did to my skin. So I’m scanning the god’s of Google to find a good detox.   I might cough out some dough for some whitening serum for my dark spots but for my overall detox, I am going for a day fasting and purging!  Hopefully I will find a good brand.

Lazy summer days

Comments Off

I have been so lazy these past few weeks. I am blaming it on the weather which for some is the perfect weather. For me I despise the sun as it really hurts my skin, no matter how much sun block I slather on myself, it’s no help. The sun loves me too much!!! At least I get my free dose of Vitamin D that I’m lacking of not any human growth hormone my coworker’s older boy is getting himself into. He is into body building, bulking up and apparently he says HGH works for him. Speaking of bulking up, I’m bulking up in a sense of FAT. Yeah, my walks with the boys are slow and super short. Get them out, they do their businesses and i quickly get back into the house and plant my butt on the chair in front of the TV or PC. Curse those tempatations! :)

Just a thought

Comments Off

The man and I had a talk about moving back to M’sia. He saw an article about retiring in some countries listed and one of them is M’sia and with $1200 from Social Security. Hmmm, that got me thinking and he I already wants to live there if and when he retires. The question falls on me if I want to leave my natural air conditioning back to the hot and sweltering place I grew up in. A friend of mine told me she would help DB look for a job too if I email her his resume. DB is actually working on updating his resume. I guess he is really serious about leaving US but he said he is wondering if there are affordable life insurance for seniors if he decides to move to M’sia for retirement. I told him there should be but probably more expensive, I guess. Who knows, we really might pack up and move back to M’sia.

Nothing much….just the ram-bur-ling….

Comments Off

These days I have nothing much to write about….contemplating, again, if I should close this blog.  I don’t update about myself or whats going on much.  This blog has become a making money blog, not much, but enough to pay the server and extras for miscellaneous.  The money part is tempting enough for me to keep it going but the thought of having to put in non paid writings in between them is giving me a headache.  Will see what I decide to do

I wanted to go downtown in the city we live for picture  taking but days are so darn hot and with no air conditioning in the car, I decided to stay home…Stay home to play more games on FB.  Actually I’m playing some and ignoring a lot of the others.  I have quite a few books laying out on my desk staring at me, begging me to open them up.  I opened one up but the temptation of Frontierville is right there.  Terrible isn’t it?  No self-control nor will power to just shut down the pc and read my book.  Guess the book is not as appealing as the game! :)   Or, I can clear out more boxes that are sitting in the house.  Dang, the power of FB games!

Anyways, I have been baking cakes and meals almost every week.  I never take pictures of them since they are just so-so according to me.  DB said they are damn good.  I baked couple of recipes from The Pioneer Woman’s cooking site and Lesley’s.  The weekends are now for errands and cleaning on Saturday; Sunday’s church and cooking/baking for the week’s meals.  It does saves a lot of time during the week to think of what to eat and then prep them.  I’m lazy that way.  Plus DB is beat when gets home from work.  He works about 9 hours a day, 6 days a week.  On top of that, that fella does not go to bed early either….so pretty much he is asking to be tired. :)   Asking him to help out after he gets home from work is pointless.  He will say “Give me 10″ meaning he will take a 10-minute nap which normally turns out to 30 or more minutes.

Ok, enough of my nonsense.  Here’s to a great weekend to everyone.  Will surf the cooking websites soon for recipe ideas.  Tee-da-loo!

DSC02975

The above picture was taken last Friday. The dogs were bored to DEATH!!!! It was thundering and lightning majorly. I usually walk them after our dinner but that evening was not the case. Mother nature was having a fit! And it was a bad one too.  I don’t mind walking if there’s thunder but then the man forbid me to go out at all.  He is the kind that if it thundering and lightning out, no going outside and no using the shower.

In the picture below, we are in the central part where it says Twin Cities (the box towards the right), if you can read it.  Sorry for the blur picture.  I set the camera mode to something besides Auto.  Didn’t check it before taking the pictures.

DSC02971

There were thunderstorm and tornado warnings. There was actually tornado touch downs but far from us. The picture I took from the news on TV shows where the tornados are – the 2 big red round dots.  Needless to say, DB was glued to the TV watching out for the storm.    There was one bad storm over our head the next night.  Super heavy rain, thunder, lightning right before we head to bed (10 pm).  DB stayed up till the storm passed by which was about 30+ minutes later.

DSC02972

It has been raining every week, at least 3 – 4 days a week.  The ground is so saturated it’s no joke.  Walk on it and it’s “squish, squish”.  There’s water running off the grass onto the sidewalks and roads even the day after.

There is more rain forecasted for this weekend….storms.  Whoopee doo!  “Love summer weather!” :(

Change cellphones?

Comments Off

Like I mentioned on the previous post, our two-year is up for a cellphone upgrade with our cellphone provider.  DB is itching to get his upgraded to another BB Curve.  Right now he has a BB Curve 8330.  He is looking at the BB Curve 8530 in black.  He put on a ton of usage on his phone and I don’t even know how many times he has dropped that phone.  All these usage was when he was in TX – calls and texting day in day out from morning till he goes to bed.  From the surface the phone has a lot of scratches and some of the numbers and alphabets are rubbing off the keys.

I on the other hand will just stick to my LG enV@2 for now which looks like this which I took from here.

DB said I should go a head and look at which one I want.  I was told by my coworker to check out HTC Imagio which is compatible with the phone provider.   The only drawback about this phone is the touch screen thingy.  Hate all the finger prints all over the screen.  The features are good especially the camera with 5 megapixels.

As of writing this, DB is checking out the BB Bold 9650 Smartphone.  Under this phone plan, he is the primary holder and I’m the secondary.  Some phones that I really like I have to pay some $$ in order to get it (BB Curve, HTC, LG).  The freebies are quite “loh toh”, not that canggih looking.  So, I might just have to wait on mine for now.  When DB decides which one he wants and if he feels like forking out a few bucks for mine, I will decide which to get.

Anyone used Motorola phones before?

It’s been awhile I actually posted something.  “I am thankful posts” are not even up.  I have to be honest though, some days it’s hard to be thankful but nevertheless, I’m still thankful for a job as there are some lay offs going on in some departments.  Thankful I still have a roof over our heads at this moment.  We have no news from the bank yet.  I’m thankful for having wheels to take us around, thankful that SD is doing better now after her Gamma Knife on the tumor in her brain.  I’m pretty much thankful for all the things I have now.

Now to the happier things……the signs of warm weather…..dog(s) out getting some Vitamin D.  For this case is Chase.  He can lay out on the cement patio sleeping for a few hours and when he comes back in, he will be panting up a storm.
DSC02887

The temperature is nice these days….temps in the 60′s is just perfect….not too hot, just cool and nice but of course that’s me! :)

But I know is warm enough for the fury ones to lay on the tile floors and where Cooper is laying here in this picture is where the vent is directly facing him if the air is on. Obviously the air is not on yet but I guess he knows if it’s on, he got the right spot.
DSC02886

And the “angel” amongst the three, Ranger. He is content laying where he is ever since he got home from his walk – the entrance to the garage. He is getting super mellow and mellower every day, the “I don’t give a hood” kinda attitude which is good to a point.
DSC02882

Picture of our backyard taken on Sunday. It was a nice day with clear blue skies. It’s actually a good day to go pick up dog poop! DB did the dirty job and I went out to meet up with a friend whom we knew since Standard 1 at the Mall of America.

Another after snow post

Picture taken in the morning while it was still snowing lightly. I didn’t go in to work coz of my sickening throat. Took the picture to see where the grill is….so much for trying to get some grilling in!

This was taken right after the snow stopped. We went out to take pictures and walk on the fresh snow!

Yep that’s DB standing there…looks like he is supervising those recycle guys but he was not. He was trying to shovel a path for me.

Doesn’t care how deep the snow is, he still wants to fetch!

At least the boys didn’t venture over here…..nice and smooth, somewhat.

IMG_3823
Cooper wants Chase’s stick but he is getting slower now. Heart is willing but legs are not.

IMG_3830
This is Ranger’s walking route.  He so want to climb up the snow banks and snoop near the woods.  I don’t let him coz of his bad leg.

After 3 days of snowing

Comments Off

IMG_3893
The snow is piling high on the patio. Snow started on Monday late morning and didn’t stop till Wednesday noon.

IMG_3827
As soon as the snow stopped, I went out with the boys, Cooper and Chase to the park. Ranger I had to walk him separately from the other 2. The weather was nice in the 20′s F. Snow on the streets was melting after the plows went through. This was taken about 2 hours after the plows came by. Can see black on the roads!

In the trails, just beautiful…untouched till me and the two boys came along!

Tried getting a picture of the two together…but Cooper is too damn camera shy! Notice Chase’s missing teeth? One big empty gap with missing tooth and a fang? It’s the same on the other side. But he still could chew his rawhides down in seconds.

Finally, he looked over and stayed put!

Enough of rain

Comments Off

I have enough of the rain, for me, not sure about some folks…yes, it finally stopped last night and drying up the ground this morning when I went out for my walk.  The boys are happy they get to go for their walks, again!

Yesterday was trash and recycle day which means I need to haul the trash and recycle cans out to the curb of our yard. I was hoping it would quit raining but it rained the whole day Tuesday since Monday afternoon.

Came home to see the cans with their lids opened!! Urgh! Hate that.  (The smaller one is for trash.  Bigger one is for recycles: newpapers, plastics, cans, cardboards – anything that can be recycled.  The recycle company will sort them things out.  We don’t need to.)

Trash day on a rainy day

Of course I have to curse those trash and recycle guys!  Coz I need turn those heavy cans over to get rid the water before I could roll them back to the side of the garage.  On normal trash days, and btw, it’s DB’s job to get these boys out, the trash/recycle guys were really nice, the cans will be emptied and all standing straight up like the one you see across our house.

I’m glad the next couple of days are dry till Saturday…rain/flurries in some areas.  Friday will be a crunch time to get the yard clean up of poop and leaves.  I have to say the backyard is like a cow pad.
