Tagging songs you like

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

I have been downloading music off the internet for the longest time, actually since I came to the United States.  I pay a little fee every month and I can download the music all I want.  Then this iPod thing came along.  I always wanted an iPod but, of course, I did not get one because it is so expensive.   However, DB bought me a different version of it which is definitely cheaper than the iPod version.  Listening to tall the songs on the radio and not getting the music I want really kind of stinks.

HDradio.com brings you a way for listeners to tag the songs with a minimal fee, they like while listening to the radio.  With iTunes Tagging it allows you to tag your favorite song with a high definition radio receiver.   By clicking on the Tag button it will save your song from the receiver to your iPod.  On top of that, the Polk i-Sonic ES2 has four speakers in the little system with wonderful acoustic sounds.  The speakers location surrounds the entire little box so one can enjoy the wonderful “stereo” effect.  BF will get a kick when I tell him about this little toy.

Stupid rodents under the sink!

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

I was cleaning the house this afternoon after I got home from work.  I started mopping the kitchen floor and thought I should clean cabinet under the sink.  I pulled the trash can out and some of the bottle of cleaners.  When I moved the giant container of Dawn (dish liquid) to the right, low and behold, the stupid mouse was there staring up at me.  This guy was brave, it just stared at me during all these commotions I was making.  These rodents are smart now, they know the sticky pads can kill them, they avoid that particular spot.

Good thing I not really afraid of these buggers, but I still called for SOS.  DB came right away since I said there was a “rat” under the sink.  I told him we need a better humane mouse traps to trap these rodents.  DB said the glue boards do work very well.  He caught a few in the laundry room and in the garage.   They are non-poisonous and are safe to use around the dogs.

Doyourownpestcontrol.com has some good mouse trap for our use.  Initially I thought of getting the Mini Repeater-Humane Mouse Trap which works like a cat.  They are more humane because once the mice are caught, we can release them.  The thought of having them killed is beyond me, but DB still thinks that the glue boards are the best as the mice will rot to death stuck to the glue.  Whatever we are getting, I hope I do not have to see it dead.

cabin2.pngBuilding your dream house is not that easy.  My friend, Ruby and her hubby, Jerry, are building their own cabin up north.  They are retired, sold their home in the cities and moved to Lake Millacs area.  They got a hold of HousePlansandMore.com that is based out in St. Louis, Missouri for the building of their Log Cabin House Plans.   HousePlansandMore.com is a division of Home Design Alternatives, Inc.  Their plans for this cabin is a very simple plan with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with a back garage entrance.  It was the simplicity of  HousePlansandMore.com that they are able to get their blueprints within a day – all right from their website.  Their website is extremely user friendly and the prices are very reasonable, too.

There are all different types of plans, plans that are all to your heart desires at HousePlansandMore.com.  If you desires an English Cottage House Plans type, you can, too, get them with ease at their website.  The selection of different types of building designs are all listed on their Home page.  There is also a basic search on the Home page where you can search for the square footage, number of bedrooms, baths, and the estimated costs to build the home.  There is also a criteria for those who wants to pick a plan with the maximum width and depth of their home.

Ms. E’s free trip to Hawaii

Isn’t it nice to go on vacations that are paid for and you can also bring along your spouse?  Ms. E is a member of the board of directors in her bank and every year the members of the board are given two paid trips for their annual meeting and some other conference.  This December, she and her hubby are going to Hawaii and it would be the second time they have been to Hawaii sponsored by the bank.  I so envy her.  Anyways, she told me they will be staying on the Big Island for 5 days with the other members of the bank.  Everything from air fare, taxi, hotel accommodation, meals and activities will be paid for.

After the 5-day meetings, she and her hubby will extend their stay in Hawaii for another 4 more days.  Her hubby made all the extended stay arrangements through HawaiianBeachRentals.com.  He looked over all the Big Island vacation rentals  on their website and is contemplating if he should get a rental home or a cabin in North Kohala Ranch.  The first rental property is on the Kulawai Falls and has their own private waterfalls and pond.   Both places are close to all touristy spots especially for his hubby, that is golf.

All these viewing of beautiful vacation places in Hawaii totally got me and Ms. E reading the Hawaiian Travel Blog.  From this travel blog, she is able to find places they can go to during their extended stay.  Hawaii must be an awesome place for vacation because every one that has been there said they will always go back to Hawaii any time.

Honeymoon in Hawaii

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Hubby’s friend Scott came over last night for a visit.  The last I saw Scott was last year when he helped us moved to our new house.  I knew he was dating but did not know he got married this year.  He and his wife, Melissa married in July.  Their wedding was held in Alaska where Melissa’s family and relatives are.  I can just imagine how beautiful it is in Alaska in the the summer.  They did not head out for their honeymoon because of Scott’s job commitments.  So, came to find out, they just returned from their honeymoon last week.  What a surprise.  The last DB talked to him was last month and he did not tell Db about it.

The happy couple contacted Melissa’s sister who is a travel agent asking her where would a great and affordable place for their honeymoon.  Well, her sister told them to  check out the Hawaiian vacations from Hawaiian Beach Rentals.  Scott told us their rental beach house faces Mount Makana and he had the best time surfing and Melissa’s favorite was deep sea diving.  They found all the Hawaii hot travel spots from the Hawaiian Local Travel Information center Melissa’s sister gave them.  I can’t wait to see the pictures now.
