PR card expiring

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

I received my PR card back in late 2000 and when I saw the expiration date of 02/20/2011, that’s a long ways to go…wonder if I need to renew it.

Well, few weeks ago, I thought of my green card, dug it out and saw the expiration date and did some Googling to check when and how to renew a green card.  I pulled up the information from the US Department of Homeland Security and the renewal info was there.  I was hoping I don’t need to renew it but I need to –  to cya kind of thing – cover your ass.

Read through the application and the final part on payment.  I have to cough out a whopping $370.  The fee for the application is $290 and and another $80 for biometrics.  KNN, I have already had my biometrics done 13 years ago and they need it again?  Well, I’m assuming they are using a new way for biometrics or whatever.

I’m going to complete the forms which i can print online, write out a check of $370.oo to the USDHS.  The instructions says I have to submit my renewal application 6 months or earlier before it expires due to USDHS backlog.  I will get them mail out probably this weekend or by next week….I’m a procrastinator, remember????

Every damn time I look at the I-90 forms (PR card renewal application) I’m just hopping mad!!  This stupid new immigration law for state of AZ which is in debate now the politicians are fighting about for the illegal immigrants who cross the border (Mexico to Arizona or Texas).  These illegals settled in the new country, gave birth to kids who are then automatically become US citizens (anchor babies) will be legal immigrants due to their children’s status ….something like that.  So those who came to the country legally and paid all the fees to get to stay, work and pay taxes will just sit tight and watch these damn illegal bastards get their PR status freely????  Damn, that is totally stupid, they should be frigging deported back to Ma-hi-co and come back with proper paperwork!

It is not fair and no matter how many times I have to tell the folks at my church how I feel, they still think these illegals should have the right to stay because they have kids to bring up.  The churchy folks say I need to feel the compassion for them.  Hah!  I will feel sorry for them to leave their kids behind while they are being locked up and scooted back to their country, but they asked for it. i feel sorry for their kids.  And then since they are now in this country working, get the immigration paperwork done properly, pay the fees like all immigrants do in this country and get your asses back to your children in a legal manner.  AZ, you go get her!

Kids with too much time in their hands

It’s summer break over here in the US. School age kids are out and about, very free so what they do besides going on vacation with their folks? They go decorate the neighborhood with toilet paper (TP). :D

Hehehehe, no all kids do that, but I assumed those who have itchy hands and butt, wants to get their hands into something, they throw TP up trees and make a mess of them.

These two pictures were taken this morning on my way to work. It’s always during summer and around Halloween we will see this TP-ing on trees and shrubs. I can only assume teenage kids will do that….a prank. The good thing is it didn’t rain overnight. If not, it will be a pain to get the TP off the tree.

If only there are cameras around the neighborhood, the neighborhood association will catch these buggers!

I am still debating if I still want to keep this blog after July of this year. The only reason I keep it is because of the teeny angpow money I get from the blog. Besides that I am getting lazy to update it. When I first started this blog it was all about SEO and all the big huhah of Google PR and submitting my url to some free web directory to get more traffic.  It did get some good traffic but also a lot of spam!  Drives me crazy which I finally didn’t even bother especially i journalling in a diferent private blog now.

PW book signing at MOA

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I have been following The Pioneer Woman’s (PW) blog since Che-Cheh mentioned it some time ago, a year now, I think?  Tried a few of her desserts, the cakes to be more specific, some mains and a couple of appetizers.    They are good, too damn good.  And if you follow PW’s blog, she has recently published her cookbook and she is on a book signing tour and one of the stop is at the Mall of America in Bloomington this Saturday at 1 p.m.  It’s just in the neck of the woods for me, 10 to 15 minutes drive.  And since my former coworker has been asking me to go to the mall with her (she goes to the big mall for walks when the weather changes), I might take up her invite.  But then I didn’t buy PW’s cookbook,  yet.  Sure is malu-fying, right, go kay poh at the book signing and no book for her to sign?  I will have to get one at B&N once I get there.   I think I will be more nervous than PW since I’m not good when it comes to meeting someone in person – like “ngau cheong”!

Is this benign or….?

mole on head

…due to itchy fingers?

That mole is on DB’s head.  Yeah, he is going botak, so I told him to crew cut his head.  Anyways, I saw this mole-y thing on Sunday night.  He could not see it, so he asked me to take a picture and so he could send it to his mom.  MIL was a RN, I guess he wanted her opinion.  I told him to go make an appt with his doc but he said will wait for his annual checkup which is soon I think.   He also said he was scratching a spot on his head coz there were dry skin.

Well, I am guessing this mole-y looking thing is from his itchy fingers, however, he said one of his prescription medications have skin rashes as side effects.  I will have to see if he will have it check out.  I can lead the horse to the water but can’t force it to drink.
