Signs of spring

The robins are out and about in our yard. I saw a couple of them last weekend….it’s actually nice to see the robins out and the good old brown chickedies (not sure the name of it) but they are busy chirping everyday. The temperature for the past couple of weeks shot up to the upper 30’s and lower 40’s. Snow is melting pretty quickly during the day and then it freezes during the night…..so that’s good….will slow down the potential of flooding. The snow on the trails are slowly melting….my form of quick weight loss is slowly taking away from me!!!  Darn….I really love walking the snow packed snow trails, but oh well, can’t have it all the time!  At least I can see what grass looks like  again!

The fun of house hunting for renting is making me think so much what we need to sacrifice for some thing. May is approaching us soon….especially on normal days, time is already zipping by so quickly. We scouted for rental homes on the internet which we started couple months ago and it’s still going. I saw two houses for rent at a dirt cheat rate. But the price to pay is if have nice to new modern furniture in your house. This is because that two houses are show houses. The rental management still wants the houses to be in inpeccable condition for future home buyers. Weird arrangement if you ask me. So the two things we are thinking of sacrificing are DB’s beloved satelite and both our needs of internet!!!  And also our cellphones – the package needs to go on a very strict diet.  All these sacrificing for the sake of keeping the dogs when we move.  We cannot bear the thought of giving them away to the humane society especially the older ones.  They younger, rowdy one, if worse comes to worse, he has to go….sad to even think about it.

DB is still hunting for a job.  There are jobs out there but no bite yet.  I’m still keeping my hopes he will get one….as long as he is not that picky….but will see.  I told him to change his career line to maybe insurance marketing or real estate…something where there is job movement.  Nope, that idea went to deaf ears.  He is adamant with getting a job in his manufacturing/semi-conductor tech jobs.  I’m to a point of giving up on giving him ideas or my opinion of jobs.  The one thing he definitely needs to brush up is his long-winded resume.  ToOld him to shorten it more than when it is now ages ago, he said no….I think he is going to now, finally, after getting some feedback from some resume writing site.  Duh!  He is really something else…I’m just going to shut up now.

DB thinks Ranger is and angel….because of his calm disposition, no whine, no demands compare to the other two C’s. No doubt he is calm but when it comes to food, he is not, he will hound you till he gets it! And another thing is it sure seem like he knows we are doing something to him. Last week I saw blood in his pee while we out in the trails….so I had to call DB to make an appointment with the vet that evening and brought him in soon after. Sure enough he had bladder infection….that was my initial guess besides kidney infection since that fella only drinks twice a day and pees only once in the morning and a few times in the evening…..nothing in the afternoon. He was prescribed antibiotics and DB brought home a urine sample kit to collect Ranger’s urine!

One glove, a plastic vile, liquid squeezer (not sure what to call that thing), tray and instructions. I thought collecting urine is as easy as using the oximeter, and so I thought! :(

After 8 days of treatment with the prescribed antibiotics, we need to collect Ranger’s urine to send it back to the vet for analysis. Take a look at the instructions:

Read it? I laughed so hard the moment I saw the EQUIPMENT….a soup ladle! OMG, I was floored. DB tried in the morning with a ladle in his gloved hand walking out with Ranger, but DB said Ranger knew something was not right…coz DB never come out of the house when sending them out for potty. Ranger walked to the middle of the yard, heavy snow and took his time….DB didn’t go….he said it was a pain…my thinking, DB is just lazy to walk out there! :(

So my turn to try get the urine sample. I took him to the trials with my own collection kit:

That plastic bottle is a used medication bottle….cleaned and dried it and off we went. I didn’t bring a ladle with me! Goodness what people out in the trails would think when they see me holding the ladle with the dog peeing!!! I can just imagine it. So I put the glove on and the moment we got the truck, Ranger peed but that fella had to pee at an angle where I couldn’t catch the pee in the bottle. …Now I know why the ladle!!!!!! And the glove absolutely helped!!!! So after 3 tries, I gave up. He was too quick and impromptu, plus my hands were already freezing.

We took him back to the vet and they collected his urine….they must had insert something to his urethra coz it was so quick he came out from the room. Still waiting for the results. But the urine collection was just too hillarious….but i hope he is free from infection…

This is the last week for February. We still have no news from the buyer’s realtor if the sale is yah or nay. Apparently according to our realtor, the short sale application was approved by our bank. So what’s the scoop here leaving us hanging. We don’t even know if the buyer has changed their mind on the purchase or they are waiting till spring to move in. We are sort of packing our junk in the house and dealing with the house and car insurance with the insurance company. Right now we have them both in one company. I am thinking of changing insurance company, if possible, since our current one is so damn expensive….or maybe I’m just feeling the pinch now. Whatever it is, the buyer’s realtor better give us an answer coz if it’s a nay, we have to put the house back on the market….and we will have to stay in the house till mid-May. I just want to get out of this house and not pay the home insurance but instead pay renter’s insurance….hell a lot cheaper. Oh well….my new motto is, Que sera sera. Less for me to worry…let the man do all the worrying!
