I got into a fender-bender this afternoon. Stopped over at Holiday station on Lexington and Diffley in Eagan, filled the Monte up and even remembered to use my Cub Foods Holiday Station coupons for gas. Pulled out from my pump and was behind a Mazda who was taking his sweet ass time manuevering out of the aisle. It’s Friday and the station was packed, I had my FM KS95 cranked up, and suddenly, “THUD”. First word that came out of my mouth…. you guessed it. The Mazda in front of me was gone. What the hell happened? Looked over to my right and I could see the girl swearing under her breath. I had to pulled over next to the handicapped spot and as I pulled over, I could feel the scratch on the passenger door. The girl backed up and banged the passenger door. There was a dent and scratches on the door and fender.
She came over and checked out the Monte, her Oldsmobile didn’t had a dent at all –just some red paint. She called the cops just to make sure we get a police report for insurance purposes, and we exchanged our insurance crap, license numbers, names, and phone numbers. It was 94F freaking degrees and we stood by our car waiting for the cop. It was so hot I could feel sweat trickling down my butt crack!
Cop came and asked if we got hurt, looked at the damage on the Monte and her Oldsmobile, and then told us he cannot make a police report due to the fact the accident happened on a private property. We both learned something new today. He took our drivers’ licenses and insurance info went inside his air-conditioned squad car, and left us standing under the blazing heat. He returned the stuff to us 10 minutes later which felt like 30 minutes.
We both recorded the day and time this incident happened on each of our exchanged insurance info and left. While we were waiting for the cop to return our licenses and insurance, the girl asked me if I have powered side mirrors and windows. I say yes and she proceeded to tell me to make sure they are checked too when I take the car in for repairs. That was sweet of her.
By the time I got home, settled the hungry boys, and took some pictures, DB got home. Told him everything and it was already 4:30. I’m not calling my insurance company today. That will have to wait til Monday.
