DB received an email from his SIL saying:  “Just wanted to let everyone know that hubby and I are going to be Grandpa and Grandma!!!  Biache  and Dookie are expecting their first baby on ……..  (A NEW PEM CHEERLEADER COMING INTO THE WORLD!!)

DB’s response was: “Well congrats to Biache and Dookie.  Also congrats to you guys, I know that you are excited about the news.  Get out the rocking chair and reserve your place at the rest home - Grandma and Grandpa!!!!”

This lady was waiting to be a grandma the month after her daughter and hubby came home from their honeymoon.  She bought all sorts of baby clothes and don’t know what else which I didn’t bother to remember after she showed me.

So, ladies and gentleman, this is the lady who always wants to know what we are doing, why we are not doing this and that to our house, who painted our house, do you like this house, and I wish I could answer her “None of your frigging business, lady.”

Looks like she will never get it!

Beautiful weekend

26 September 2007

What a beautiful weekend to start off the first day of fall.  Sunday was the first day of fall.  The temperature was in the 50s when I got up and quickly shot up to the 60s and 80s in the afternoon.  It was warm and windy.  The front yard was swept clean of leaves but by Sunday afternoon came, it was covered with yellow and brown leaves.  DB was doing his yard work for the week.  I was doing house chores, what else??  We actually started working on our chores quite late.  I was scrambling to get them done as I needed to get to Corrine’s around 3:30 p.m.  Spent a couple hours at her house yakking.  She asked if I want to work part-time to help out in her hole-in-the-wall restaurant.  I told her I have to think about it but she told me just do it.  All cash.  I guess I will…..she will call if she needs help.

Once I got home, the boys stuck to me like leeches.  Every movement I made, they stirred, just like kids, or I should say, it’s worst than kids.  Why  they kept following me?  Because it was time for their evening walk and carrots/apples time of the day.  Little rascals!!

Anyway, the rest of the evening turned out to be a cool evening.  The days are getting shorter; sun sets around 7:05 p.m.  Where did summer go?

Loans

24 September 2007

We have been thinking of getting a used Ford F-150 pickup truck.  DB’s beatup Blazer still takes him to point A to point B, however, there is no heat or air in that old faithful.  The good thing is his drive to work and back only takes him 15 minutes.  DB thought of getting a Car Loan from an online loan service provider when he is ready to get a new truck.

Complete Loan Source offers all sorts of Loans for your needs. They have auto loans, personal loans, debt consolidations, cash advance and even bad credit loans.  What is great about this company is even if you have bad credit, you can still apply and their specialized loan representatives will assist you if you have filed bankruptcy, late payments or foreclosures.  Their rates are low and affordable and you can finance with prime or sub-prime credit.  Personal Loans are easy to apply and they do not require a huge amount of collateral, if the borrowed amount is less than $10,000, like I need to with the personal loan I had with my credit union.

All the above loans can be applied online and it only takes a few minutes and rest assure your online application is secure.

A dinner date with my bro

24 September 2007

My brother from Boston is in Rochester, MN right now.  He asked if DB and I will be available on Wednesday evening for dinner.  Yep, we are and DB was the first to say yes.  He flew in from Chicago directly to Rochester this afternoon and he said the flight was horrible.  The flights to Rochester, MN are usually operated by those regional airlines.  Very pathetic.

He will be driving from Rochester to Eagan on Wednesday afternoon and we shall meet around 6:30-ish.  He is staying at a hotel close to the restaurant I met him prior.  I am thinking of going to Viva Italia for dinner which is about 5-10 minutes drive from his hotel.  I’m sure there are vegetarian food on their menu.  Will update on this later….

Online Store

24 September 2007

Since I have so many books in my bookcases and more hidden in boxes and milk crates sitting in the basement, I should do something with them, I think.  I know I can sell them on eBay, however, it would be nice to have set up my own little use books/magazines online store and draw income from it.  Moreover, it will be my own small business and anything I purchase for this little adventure can be used for taxes deductions.

To get this little online business store going, I need an efficient shopping cart software that will do all the wonders for me.  Ashop Commerce has search engine optimization shopping cart softwares.  What it does is it will always ensure my products will be on the highest rank in major search engines.  The other features that comes with the package are inventory control , bulk order processing, auto-image resizing to name a few.

After test-driving the shopping cart on their site, it is really easy to set up on the admin panel and demo on the front-end shopping cart looks neat and very user-friendly.   Ashop Commerce has the most advance ecommerce software to support the back-end of your online business.

A new site on business research

24 September 2007

My Principles of Management business instructor once told his students if we need more information on a certain business insight, we need to look into Synovate.  To help with market research, Synovate helps its customers meet their needs by putting together relevant information, for example, if a company needs business consulting, they will approach Synovate Business Consulting.  It will assist them in competitive intelligence, market opportunity analysis, or key account profiling to name a few.  In addition to that, Synovate offers a thorough data collection and analysis for your research project.

New Auction Game

24 September 2007

I am a person who likes entering sweepstakes.   I know a lot of them actually wants you to purchase items from them even though purchasing will not increase the chances of winning the sweepstake.   There is this sweepstake call Bid4Prizes.

This sweepstake is very easy to play.  It is user-friendly and is a text based reverse-auction game.  First you need to join as a member and register your cellphone number.  Once you are done, you can start bidding for prizes.   The lower your bid is, the higher your chances of winning.  The bid always starts at a penny and if so happens there are more than a person bidding for a penny, it is no more the lowest bid.  It will then be two cents as the lowest unique bid and so on.  Winning the prize is based on the lowest unique bid.

The prizes you can win range from Apple I-Phone, HDTVs, designer bags, SCION XBs to cash prizes.  There are also free gifts you can receive by redeeming points by just playing Bid4Prizes auction game.   On top of that, you can also win cash prize by playing this auction game.

Check out this new auction game.  There is always a new winner daily and it could be you!

Igor

This 11-pointer was shot by DB when he was 17 years old.  DB named him Igor and has been with him through thick and thin.  Before we moved to our current home, Igor was sitting mighty proudly in the three-season porch in the old house.  I want Igor to claim a place too but where.  I thought of the wall above the fireplace in the basement, but it is too low.  The only place I can think of is DB’s office or the living room, above the piano.  Poor Igor, he needs a different scenery besides the while tile ceiling.
