Work from home opportunity

Friday, September 28th, 2007

My colleague, Tina, is one of those who are very sociable, those who has no problem mingling with folks picked out from the streets.  With her being so sociable, she is in to selling fashion jewelry which she does it as a part time job during the weekends and most of the time after her normal work 7:30-4:00 p.m. job.  This second job is like a business opportunity she has always yearned for since she graduated from high school.  What she does is she would sell the hand-crafted jewelry either from home or she would hold a little ladies get-together in her house or at a friend or relative’s home.  Very easy and good side income, too.

Dinner with my brother

Friday, September 28th, 2007

DB and I met my brother on Wednesday night at Vivo Italia, an Italian restaurant in Eagan.  He drove up to the Cities from Rochester, checked in to Marriot and met us for dinner.  It was the first time he met DB.  They both talked about their line of work that is semi-conductor, computer, technology, futuristic stuff and he shared some of the projects he was and is currently on.  Did I take any pictures??  No, we didn’t.  Sorry sis, you can wring my neck when I see you in two months.  We were too busy yepping away and bro sure can talk.  He gave me a CD collection of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas which I was looking for it couple of months ago.  Now, it’s right in my hands.  YES!!!!

As usual, bro had his vegetarian dinner and DB and I were like carnivors – Chicken Florentine with linguini.  Delissimo!  Bro ate so little and no dessert for him.  He told the waiter he needs to nurse the big glass of ice tea first.  DB ordered the house ice-cream, he picked chocolate and it came with 6 scoops of s-cream.  I ordered Creme Brulee and 5 minutes later, I was told they ran out!  What a bummer!!  I was so looking forward to it.  The last I had it was in Boston 2 years ago.  In the end, I order Tiramisu.  Not bad all, it was very filling.

Absolutely great food and wonderful company.  Never a dull moment.  He told us we need to make a visit to the East Coast.  Unfortunately, both coasts are not DB’s places to go.

Oh, I almost forgot, we were talking about the current technology in the semi-conductor world and the topic of Apple crept up, and then IPods, IPhone and all the other Apple products.  I have a feeling someone is going to receive a used IPod soon :D

Time for a trip up North?

Friday, September 28th, 2007

SD and BF are now in Duluth.  They took the Northshore road and I am sure the scenery is just fabulous.  I asked DB if he would like to take a trip up north for a weekend, he said he has to think about it.  He likes it if SD and BF could come along and check out the vacation rentals with VLBO Vacation Rentals for the weekend.  Fall is here and the colors are near peaked in the northern part of the state.  Renting a cabin for the four of us would be the ideal thing, a cabin that sits right on the lake, and includes a fishing boat on the dock.  DB’s preference is a cabin equipped with wide screen TVs, satelite receivers, DVD players, fooseball tables and a hot tub.  That guy when he wants to go for a vacation, he wants to go in style.  I told him if he sticks to VLBO Vacation Rentals, he will have all his wishes come true.

DB received an email from his SIL saying:  “Just wanted to let everyone know that hubby and I are going to be Grandpa and Grandma!!!  Biache  and Dookie are expecting their first baby on ……..  (A NEW PEM CHEERLEADER COMING INTO THE WORLD!!)

DB’s response was: “Well congrats to Biache and Dookie.  Also congrats to you guys, I know that you are excited about the news.  Get out the rocking chair and reserve your place at the rest home – Grandma and Grandpa!!!!”

This lady was waiting to be a grandma the month after her daughter and hubby came home from their honeymoon.  She bought all sorts of baby clothes and don’t know what else which I didn’t bother to remember after she showed me.

So, ladies and gentleman, this is the lady who always wants to know what we are doing, why we are not doing this and that to our house, who painted our house, do you like this house, and I wish I could answer her “None of your frigging business, lady.”

Looks like she will never get it!

Beautiful weekend

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

What a beautiful weekend to start off the first day of fall.  Sunday was the first day of fall.  The temperature was in the 50s when I got up and quickly shot up to the 60s and 80s in the afternoon.  It was warm and windy.  The front yard was swept clean of leaves but by Sunday afternoon came, it was covered with yellow and brown leaves.  DB was doing his yard work for the week.  I was doing house chores, what else??  We actually started working on our chores quite late.  I was scrambling to get them done as I needed to get to Corrine’s around 3:30 p.m.  Spent a couple hours at her house yakking.  She asked if I want to work part-time to help out in her hole-in-the-wall restaurant.  I told her I have to think about it but she told me just do it.  All cash.  I guess I will…..she will call if she needs help.

Once I got home, the boys stuck to me like leeches.  Every movement I made, they stirred, just like kids, or I should say, it’s worst than kids.  Why  they kept following me?  Because it was time for their evening walk and carrots/apples time of the day.  Little rascals!!

Anyway, the rest of the evening turned out to be a cool evening.  The days are getting shorter; sun sets around 7:05 p.m.  Where did summer go?
