Gifts

Monday, November 5th, 2007

SD and her fiance are already making plans for their wedding.  It will be in January of 2010.  We look at dresses for the bride, and the entire entourage and came to a conclusion that we will seriously look into it after the baby arrived.  Seriously, we still have a lot of time.  But the one thing they both want to do is sent out photo mugs after the baby is born.  That is a very neat idea.  Grab a picture of the baby digitally and send it to Framemyphotos.com.  The mug will be personalized with their baby picture or a picture of them with the baby.

What they both need to do after selecting the picture is to pick the type of mug they want.  The mugs are made with top quality ceramic and ink, and one very important feature is it is dishwasher and microwave safe, and it will last a long time.  When placing orders for your photomugs done, you can pick whether you want right handed, left handed or handles  on both sides for no extra charges.  They guaranteed a quick turn around for delivery of one to three days.

Framemyphotos.com does not only make personalized photomugs, they make personalized calendars, greeting cards, mouse pads which is currently offering at $2.95 till the end of the year.  Personalizing an item as a gift or memorabilia is a wonderful thought.  I hope SD will take this into serious consideration!

An invite to the Hogwarts!

Monday, November 5th, 2007

hogwartsseal.gifTrinity invited me to Hogwarts.  Boy, I have only seen Harry Potter’s movie once which I can’t remember which one it was, but it was a great movie.   I don’t even remember how many HP movies are there out there that I have not seen, let alone read the books.  There are so many millions of people scrambling to get a copy of HP’s latest book and watch the movie.  Me….I’m not into HP, but I’m still curious where I will end up, I shall proceed with the test, and the results……ta…da….

Which Hogwarts house will you be sorted into?

I am a Ravenclaw

I know what you’re all thinking, “Not -another- sorting quiz!”, but before you get bored and leave, let me say a few things about it. This is not the ordinary sorting quiz that you’re used to. Unlike all those other quizzes infesting the Internet, this quiz actually sorts you for who you are as a person, not because your favorite animal is a lion.

I made this quiz as a reaction to all the bad sorting quizzes. The problem with most of the existing quizzes, is that the questions rarely have anything to do with which house you would actually be sorted into. Your favorite color doesn’t effect which house you belong to. Not every Gryffindor likes defense against the dark arts, not every Slytherin likes potions. Just look at Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Each is in Gryffindor, but each has a completely different disposition. Harry’s father was often a bully and a thief, yet he was still in Gryffindor.

This quiz will actually ask you psychological questions with a variety of answers that can’t easily be determined as to which house they fit into. This was meant to be more like what the Sorting Hat does. Just remember though that you must answer these questions truthfully in order to get an accurate answer.

Also these questions are written to take place in our world, not the world of Harry Potter. I didn’t give a Harry Potter theme to the quiz because the answers are more accurate this way. As Muggles, we don’t have any idea what it’s like to be faced with a troll or a bogart and we’ve never played quiddich. Our answers may be skewed as to how our favorite characters would act instead of ourselves. However, we all know what it’s like to live in the Muggle world because we do it every day.

Please take the test and copy paste this *master list* after you are sorted and don’t forget to tag your friends! Let’s see which tower has the most members!

Try online education

Monday, November 5th, 2007

I have tried online college and it was very different from sitting in a classroom.  Personally I know I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had a wonder experience.  I have made a lot of friends via online rather than in the classroom setting.  The instructors were absolutely great.  Very cooperative and willing to share any added information that were not in the syllabus with the students.  Although it was a fast paced course, it was worth the stress.  The online participation was a whole new ball game for me.  Students received additional credits for participating.  Online participation is how much a student response to another student’s or the instructor’s question or replies.

My  co-worker who enrolled in capella university, which is right in Minneapolis, also likes the idea of online learning.  It is convenient and you can do it in the comfort of your own home, in your pyjamas if you want!  It was very convenient for her since she has 3 young kids.  She is studying for her Human Resources Management degree and is now in her final year.  A lot of hard work but it is paying off.  I might have to think about it after I complete my 2-year degree at the community college.

Monday, Monday!

Another beautiful day at work.  Boss is back from her vacation in Lost Wages.  Gotta act busy  now, less blogging!

Weekeend went by so quickly.  I was so tired on Saturday, I didn’t want to do anything after I got home from work and grocery shopping.  It sure feels like I’m on vacation mood – just wanna bum around, watch movies and not do anything especially housework.

With day light saving on Sunday, kinda messed up my schedule a little.  I still woke up at 6:30 am which was actually 7:30.  DB told me I don’t have to vacumm coz he will take care of it since he will be home from now on.  That was so sweet.  He even told me to go out and hang around with my friends.  Well, I wanted to, but I’m trying to save some cash.  Instead I was on the phone for a couple hours.  DB was wondering if I still have a ear left!

Anyways, DB grill the “char siew” for me after marinating it for 24 hours.  A big thanks to Nicole for donating the packets of “char siew” mix.  It was good.  DB loved it so much, he ate so much a whole bunch of them.  Told him to spare me some for fried rice and for sandwiches, if need be.

Cooper is definitely in pain today.  He was whining so much it was horrible to listen to.  It’s more heartbreaking than anything else.  I told DB to take him to the vet hopefully the vet will prescribe some pain killers.  DB said I’m acting like a mom with a sick kid!!!!  Well, Coops is practically my buddy.  Has been my walking/running buddy for 7+ years, I can’t stand seeing him in pain.  He can’t get up from his sitting position.  If he did,  he can’t walk.  DB said he will wait it out.  Urghhhhh!!!!  I shall see how it goes when I get home this afternoon.

First week of November, and the temperature is dropping to the 30s today and tomorrow with gusty winds.  November is always a dull and gloomy month, anyways.  I’m glad in a week plus we will be on our way for our big vacation.  I can’t wait.  I hope to be able to enjoy myself and not think too much.  Yeah, easy to say……
