I want a trip to NYC

Friday, November 9th, 2007

Christmas is around the corner.  I am already thinking of what to get for presents.  I asked DB what  he wants, he said he is not sure.  I asked SD and BF, they too said they are not sure.  For me, it would be nice if I can received a New York CityPass for my Christmas gift, or for my birthday.  Maybe my big brother in Boston might just do that for me?  Yeah, keep dreaming!

This CityPass would be a life saver because it saves time as holders of the CityPass do not need to stand on line at entrances.  This passes are cheaper and very affordable.  They are sold at 50% off the combined admission fees.  For example, if you purchase the CityPass, it will only cost you $65 for an adult compared to $130 per ticket if you purchase the tickets separately.  This pass also takes you the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other museums, the Empire State Building, a tour of the Manhattan skyline on board the Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise and other information and tips on when to visit the famous touristy places.  I would like to visit the 9/11 memorial, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, the list is endless.

This NYCPass has six tickets and the winter promotion begins December 15 and you have to use those tickets by March 15.   This NYCPass definitely sounds like a great deal to me.

It’s Friday!

TGIFF!!  One more week and we will be sitting in the flying cattle car.  I still have not pack my clothes or anything  that I want to bring along.  What are in the luggages now?  They are all stuff that I have bought for my family and friends.  It looks a lot.  I am hoping those two luggages of mine will not exceed 100 pounds.  Each bag should not weigh more than 50 pounds for international trans pacific flight.  I’m sure that is only for NWA guidelines.  I remember it used to be 70 pounds.  However, if I’m flying to Hong Kong, Phillippines, per luggage weight is 70 pounds.  Go figure.

Today at work I managed to speak to this girl from England who is here for the week, working with the HRIS group on some project.  Her manager resides in Minnesota, so she gets to come to the Minnesota offfice three times a year, or more.  It is actually nice to hear a different accent, British accent, instead of the American accent in my area.  Her pronounciation of certain words reminds me of how I pronounced them before I got Americanized.  See even the spelling I’m using the American spelling.  Anyways, this girl has not travelled overseas before and since working for the company, she has travelled to France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy,  and the US.  The best about the US is shopping because of the forex.  Yeah, it will be great, too, for DB and I, but the dollar has now dropped more than I expected.  Oh well, that’s the say she’s be.

Blogging helps to pay the bills

Friday, November 9th, 2007

I started this blog almost a year ago.  I have enjoyed it very much which I guess made me more of a busybody, too, from reading other bloggers’ blogs!  The best of all reason is I get paid for blogging.  I started to blog for money in July of this year and I cannot say it is an easy task.  If I am not working full time, I would not mind blogging the whole day.  The extra cash helps with the bills.  Of course, it is nice to see the money growing in my PayPal account.   Moreover, there are so many different products and services out there from advertisers that I have not known if I had not started blogging for money.

I started writing for Smorty in August and so far I really enjoy writing for them.  They are easy and assignments are very straightforward, too.  It is a great way for advertisers to relate with bloggers.   The advertisers want bloggers to advertise on blogs, we bloggers write about it and get paid for writing about their products and services.  It is a great way to learn about the advertisers and to determine for myself if this product or service is worth a try myself.

Who does not like shopping??  I for one loves to shop.  Shopping can be my full time job if it is achievable for us.   I have done all my shopping for my trip home next week.  I thought of buying more and was about to when I did some checking on Northwest Airlines and found out per checked in luggage for international trans pacific is only 50 pounds.

I have bought a lot of my goodies from Amazon.com.  I made used of Amazon.com deals where they have free shipping on orders of over $25.  I bought all my nephews Lego toys, DVDs, and some books for myself.  There was also an Amazon coupon where I get a free TV movie show download for a DVD purchase.

Linen & Things coupons helped me save big bucks on the kitchen ware I bought for our kitchen and some of the kitchen towels I bought for my mom.  They too had the 20% discount for any item bought online.  Of course, I had to buy the spoon holders since they were on sale and to make use of the discount.  It was just too good to not use it.  And since we will be leaving for couple of weeks, at least DB will return in two weeks, I had to checkout PetCo coupons for the boys’ dog food, rawhides and biscuits.  Sometimes is cheaper to buy pet food or treats online with the use of the free shipping and discounts.  I would certainly be checking these sweet deals out as they are very easy to use.  Just go to couponchief.com, look for the store and follow the instructions on how to apply the coupon codes.  Easy peasy.
