DB’s classes

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Mikey, the training coordinator at the investor relations training school were chatting with DB last week if DB is interested with additional classes on options and forex trading.  Mikey thinks that his boss will give a discount for the classes specially for DB since he has been a student with the school since he started his stock classes last year.  I told Db if it is not going to interfere with our budget, I am fine with it, but if it has to touch our savings and credit cards, you can tell Mikey to wait till we have enough cash unless there is a sponsor somewhere who is willing to pay for his classes.

The ditz is almost back to her usual self

Thanks again for all of your comments.  Last night I went to bed with extra pillows to prop myself up instead of lying flat on the bed.  I was propped at 45 degrees, slept quite alright.  I was awake a few times reason being I was so conscious of not laying on my right side since each time I lay on my right side, the pressure in my head get really bad.  So, this morning I woke up feeling much, much better.  Not sure is it because of how I propped myself up or just the vertigo thing is going away.  DB still drove me to  work even I felt better.  He wants to drive me just to make sure in case the dizziness strikes me hard while I was driving.

Work was fine provided that I was not looking down too much and not swing myself around the chair too fast.

I even took the boys for their walk when I got home.  I told DB I was getting better.  The boys were one happy puppies.  Bouncing off the driveway all the way and back.  The only problem I had when i got home was cleaning them where I had to bend down to clean them.  At least they are well behaved that they allowed me hold on to them – more like putting my weight of my left hand on them.

If I’m not getting better, than I would be dog gone lying.  I had to cook dinner coz DB had to take a nap.  When I told him what we would be having noodles for dinner, he said “Noodles again?”  Yep, unless you cook dinner.  I cooked the wanton mee with the left over pork chops we grilled on Sunday with steamed broccolli.  I told myself I just feel glad that I’m not feeling whoozy  anymore.  Went up and down the basement with no problems.

Tonight I will still sleep propped up.  Oh, that damn dentist case, I called them yesterday to cancel the appointment telling there is no one to take me there since I can’t drive.  They can charge me that $50 they want coz I won’t be calling them again for another appointment.  I even asked her where on the reminder card they sent me was there the $50 cancellation fee if not call withing 24 hours written for their customers to know.  She said it should be on the card they sent, and I told her I was holding the card and tell me where it is.  She didn’t even know where it is and put me on hold.  Is she blond you think?  She came back about 5 minutes later telling me the cancellation fee policy is actually written on the little appointment card given by the hyginiest.  J.C. sister, that card was long gone after I put the appointment on my Outlook calendar.  That stupid policy on a small little appointment card, the size of a business card.  They should have put that policy on the reminder email and card they sent out.  What idiots.   I told the receptionist her dental office will not hear from me again.  She quickly said she will not charge me this time but take it as a warning.  Well, thanks, but you still will not see me again.

I have to say they are trying to get the money from their customers as much as they can to pay for the big ass building they bought and all the brand spanking new furniture and renovation they did.  They are losing one very loyal customer, had been with this dentist the year I arrived in MN.  I should write them a note to put mine and hubby’s accounts to the inactive pile.

Adam, the Shih Tzu

DB and I did give the thought of getting another puppy, but I shoved it off.  The two big boyz are more than enough for me to walk, bathe and split my attention-giving for them.  DB insisted that we should at least get a puppy within the smaller breed category, but I was persistent, No means NO.

Having another puppy right now is not the right time for us.  If I want another puppy I would check out other dog breeds like Shih Tzus.  Labs are great dogs, but they are high maintenance dogs who need a lot of exercise.  I love all kinds of breeds and especially the one our friend, Ruth had, a Shih Tzu name Adam.  Adam was such a loving dog, so affectionate and very playful.  Adam had long grayish long hair with white patches on his hind, belly and legs.  Ruth sent him to the groomer during the summer season to trim his hair so he wouldn’t be too hot with his long hair.

Adam was the most well behaved dog I have ever encountered.  He obeyed all voice and hand commands so well.  Bathing and drying him was so easy, and it could be because he was an older dog, he was around 8 years old then, he stood still for his bath and dry him, no fuss at all.  All I can say now is Adam was very loved dog.  At his age, he was still very playful – loves to play fetch and enjoyed all his walks.  Ruth maintained his weight so he wouldn’t be overweight.  Shih Tzus should not be overweight.  When trained from a pup, Shih Tzus will enjoy their exercising time.  Ruth tossed a tennis ball and Adam would run for it for hours.  That was one of the ways he stayed so slim and maintained the muscles  that made him looked so fit and trim.  Overall, Shih Tzus do not need a lot of exercise.  They are in the toy group breed so they do not need to be taken for long walks.

Shih Tzus and with any other puppy, when train from young they will be happy and so will the owners.  A Shih Tzu is a companion pet.  Its temperament is a very happy and affectionate dog.   Just remember that this breed needs weekly grooming and constant companionship, and is not a watch dog.  The Shih Tzu is not a barker.  If you think you want to have your pooch to join in with some family activity, the Shih Tzu will have to decide if he or she wants to or not.  They make their own decisions.   Yes, Adam was a true Shih Tzu, very loving and a great companion for Ruth and her hubby.  Adam died at the age of 14 years of age.  That is approximately the life span of a Shih Tzu.

The cause of my dizziness

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Thanks for all the kinds wishes you guys left for me….they are quite hilarious which did crack a smile on my face.  You guys think I’m pregnant, huh?  Haha, not a chance, coz it won’t happen.

I actually just got back from urgent care.  The doc said I have labyrinthitis or what they call Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.  I feel really dizzy especially changing positions from left, right, up, down or looking up.  No treatment for this problem.  This will last for a few days, weeks or months.  When I heard it will take a few days or weeks let alone months, it totally bummed me out – you know how active I am!  The doc told me to wait it out unless I take motion sickness medication which is a NO for me.  I don’t want to feel like a “space cadet” all the time.  The doc told me if the symptoms of BPPV persist for more than 3 weeks, I have to see my reg doc where she will refer me to a physical therapist who specializes with BPPV. I will come in to work tomorrow and not move around too much – sit at my desk the best thing, no stairs or quick turns of my head, that’s what the doc told me, plus no driving at all till I have no signs of dizziness.  I feel so helpless.  The boys are dang bugging me for their walks.  Sorry guys.

I called the stupid dentist to cancel my appointment for this afternoon, the receptionist told me there will be a $50 cancellation fee.  How absurd is that?  I will call again and tell them to shove it up their butt coz I’m not going to lay on that whatever you call that “bed” where they will tilt you where I will feel like I’m sorta turned upside down.  I rather suck it up, pay that $50 than feel nauseaus and dizzy.  I’m now officially a “ditz”! :-)
