Updates

Comments Off

It’s been a while since I last updated this blog.  There is not enough time in the day to do much now.  I have been spending a lot of my time outside since the evenings are not as warm as in the afternoons.  Been doing the double whamy of walking these days.  I will walk Chase and/or Cooper than Ranger and/or Cooper next.  Ranger has been doing a very slow pace lately.  Cooper at times is not getting enough from the slow paced walks with Ranger.  Walks with Chase are much better.  We go and hardly any snooping at all and it’s usually a 40 – 50 minutes walk every day.

Weekends are the worse of the lot.  Saturday is just a waste of the rest of the evening as when I get home from Satay2Go, my legs need a rest so bad and to bed by 10 or earlier.   Sunday is cleaning day and then any time I have is to spend with the boys.

Speaking of the boys, Ranger’s allergies which makes him itch so bad is making him extremely miserable now.  The medication, Atopica we started him on worked well, but we cannot afford them for the long run.  Since he is a big dog, the required dosage for him is burning a big hole in our, or I should say my pocket.  Moreover, the side effect he had from taking Atopica was he almost went bald!  He had hair fall of him in clumps.  His hot spots have returned.  I have been bathing him every week with a special anti bacterial shampoo.  He will be itched free for the day until he gets out of the house to the yard.  I know he should not roll on the grass and not let him out on the grass.  But how can you not let your dog go outdoors and prevent him from rolling on the grass?  Just can’t coz, he is a dog.  Period.  DB took him to the vet again this morning for more meds for his allergies, itching and now yeast infection in his ears.  I have a gut feeling Ranger won’t be with us for long.  The life span of a Lab is about 12-14 years.  He is 9 now.

Then, we have Chasey boy.  Looks like he is gonna stay with us for a while.  I’m not sure if he is going back to his mommy and daddy.  His daddy had a chat with DB on Sunday discussing when they should bring the boy home.  Right now SD has to recover from her surgery of the birth of Ally plus getting the baby used to her new environment.  I think we will be adopting Chase soon!  Will have to see how it goes with SD and their situation.  Here are couple of pictures of Ally, yes, pictures of her with her eyes opened!

Weather for gardening

Comments Off

It’s summer, not officially yet, but I am already not into the weather.  The temps have been so far warm in the shade and in the sun, it’s hot.  Honestly, it has been quite okay so far with temps in the 50′s F in the mornings and on some nights we get free air-conditioning.  With the warm/hot weather these days, the plants are popping up in my garden.  The perennials (hostas, dahlias, lilies, roses) came right back up.  I got rid of all the annuals last fall.

The rabbits were out in full force.  I went to Bachman’s a tad too late to get the rabbit scram granules.  Those buggers had already gotten to some of the lilies’ leaves.  Since I put the granules down around the plants, it has been good.  It kept those cotton tail rabbits out of the plants.  However, the boys are loving the smell of the granules.  They kept going to the garden to sniff the plants and not sure what else they did out there til I had to yell at them to “Get outta there!!!”

I had to go to Pahl’s Market for flower supports.  When i was at Pahls, I so wanted to get as many annuals as I want but the pocket is telling me not to.  Look at all the flowers in their green house, all ready to get rid of them.

The next thing I so want for my front yard or patio is a water fountain thing surround it with a bunch of plants.  I like the froggie water fountain which is $200.

Anyways, the flower supports are for the Dahlia plants since the boys have been laying on them and the plants are now lying flat on the ground instead of erect!  The dahlias are blooming good though, I cut the blooms and placed them in a vase.  What do you think?  Might bring this vase of flowers for SD tomorrow.
