Back to normal…whatever normal is

Comments Off

DB is back from TX, for good. He got back last week Tuesday. I, for one got so used to doing everything on my own, have no one to listen or “report” to, I’m still getting use to having him around. Of course the dogs are happy coz there will be a “door man” to let them in and out during the day.

The 3+ plus months he was at his mom’s was, initially, was good but then it went south. Put it this way, he has a taste of living with an alcoholic and he detest every bit of it. Nothing that was said to him was permanent….whatever that was said to him changes the next minute, hour or day. I so know what that means. Although he enjoyed the days working in the bar (so that he is away from the old lady) he just cannot put up with the old lady’s ever changing mind and words.

Now he is back, things are getting back to whatever our normal life is. He has been contact with our realtor while in TX but since he’s back, it’s easier to chat with her one on one. I’m glad there is a helping hand with chores around the house. Go figure, he’s back and the driveway is clean as a whistle! No snow, not even flurries and the temp is going up, for January…crazy weather.

Also I’m back to chatting up with my church member to network around for a job for the man. He still insist in engineering line which I told him it’s pretty much going overseas more and more. So frustrating. And with him back, he has scheduled for all his belated medical appointments, one of them, colon cleanser, physical and dental.  I’m happy in some ways but deep down super pissed with everything that happened down in TX, but this is what keeping me sane…..

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Since the man is back, I’m back to cooking our dinners, mainly Asian dishes. DB is so sick of eating gwai loh food he wanted spicy food or anything Asian! I wanted to make beef stew the day he got back last week, he said lets have fried rice with chilies. You see, none of the folks at his mom’s like spicy food except for the younger brother who is seldom around during meal times. Also, I started baking again!! If my sis reads this she will flip…me baking and will need some adipex p for the man since he said he put on some pounds eating all the grease and salt laden food while in TX.  The old lady does the cooking everyday – deep fried something every night.  They are “hearty” meals alright!!!!

Last and first quarters of the year are my least favorite months….totally hate them to the max. I’m glad to have a coworker sharing the same sentiment. I know I have mention this before but having the second inline to blow things out of proportion to the big boss is serious sickening where both me and coworker dread coming in to work. Now that we are being pressured to get the grunt work done asap so the second inline can get them reports in to the system and can enjoy her Florida or is it Vegas again? in peace. We have 3 whole months to get these reports done but nope, she wants them done NOW. Grrrrr…..
